Background:
- Before the coming of 10 and Pontifex Eternal Jean Malreaux, Cardinal Syndeus Xavier Machinus was sentient of deep faith in the Firmament, and in the teaching of the Pontificate. Syndeus was targeted for elimination by 10 and Malreaux, but Syndeus survived. Syndeus saw this as a sign from the Firmament that 10 and Malreaux were heretics. He fled Pontificate space and has engaged in various schemes over the past century to gain enough power to destory 10 and Malreaux.
- Cardinal Syn has the uncanny ability to bring out nearby sentient's inherent faith in the Firmament, transforming them into loyal followers and soldiers of God - under the humble and morally just command of Cardinal Syn. His schemes have been thus far unsuccessful - those not foiled by interlopers, at least*
