XP and Treasure House Rules[edit]

  • Double the normal XP received, due to the inherent slow nature of PbP gaming
  • Magic and special items (e.g. special herbs/fungi) earn XP equal to 1/5th the GP value of the item
  • Full XP gained if the item is sold before using
  • XP for treasure spent, as long as it's for carousing and the like, or donating to the Pluritine Church
  • XP for exploration (this varies by level, and are mainly one-offs)
    • Examples here would be: entering a hex for the first time, visiting a new settlement for the first time, discovering a hidden location or lost shrine, meeting a faction or type of creature for the first time, confirming the veracity of a rumor

Cities, Towns, and Villages[edit]

Lankshorn[edit]

  • Small town of ~1,100 inhabitants, mostly humans with a number of breggles
  • The Breggle nobility rule the town. 22 years ago, Lord Malbleat claimed to be the rightful ruler of House Ramius. Baron Hogwarsh ended the dispute by granting the eastern half of the domain, including Lankshorn, to Malbleat. Berkmaster Baldricke acts as Malbleat's representative in the town
  • Lord Malbleat visits often and is known for his cruelty and injustice. Townsfolk are becoming restless
  • The Pluritine Church is well respected in town, although locals also follow a number of superstitions from the old Gwyrae (Wood Gods) religion
  • Lankshorn is a market town and holds markets twice a week on Moot (Wednesday) and Sunning (Saturday).

Rumors and Hooks[edit]

  • Rumors from Prigwort
    • The high-class tailor, Brandybile, has contacts in the Shadow House and can craft magical clothing.
    • If you travel west along Swinney Road, don't trust the way-markings on Shub's Finger!
    • The garrison being constructed on the edge of town will house a legion of the Order of St Faxis, who plan to eradicate all witches in the region.
  • Rumors from Lankshorn
    • The Berkmaster holds a secret prisoner in his attic
    • A company of friars took a statue of the obscure Saint Nuncy into the woods to the west (hex 0609) and lost it, some centuries ago
    • The grimalkin proprietor of Bogway’s, Whimsly Bobblefrock, was bested in a game of cards by the illustrious Madame Shantywood. The vengeful fairy now hates Shantywood and is plotting a grisly doom for her
