Washington, D.C. ~ AGT Enterprises, Inc. of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, is pleased to announce the opening of the new Star Cinema IMAX. The new Star Cinema complex in Washington D.C. includes the IMAX theatre, three additional auditoriums with stadium seating and an additional concession stand. Thus making it the largest Star Cinema currently in use. This is a first for the small AGT company based out of Wisconsin wich has recently begun to expand and develop after its near collapse only a few months ago. Moviegoers in the Washington D.C. area will be able to experience the movies in the most powerful, immersive, and unique way. Star Cinema IMAX will offer both educational, documentary style IMAX films as well as Hollywood event films digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience (r).
The unique combination IMAX's 15/70 film format, specially designed screen that is slightly curved and a powerful multi-channel digital surround sound system will provide Star Cinema IMAX moviegoers with an immersive and extraordinary cinematic experience.
Space Station 3D and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: The IMAX Experience will be the first feature films shown at Star Cinema IMAX.
Space Station 3D is the first-ever IMAX(r) 3D space film. Audiences will travel 220 miles above the Earth at 17,500 mph to experience Space Station 3D - the greatest engineering feat since landing a man on the moon. The movie tells the story of the unique partnership of 16 nations building a laboratory in outer space - a permanent facility for the study of the effects of long-duration exposure to zero gravity and the necessary first step towards the global co-operative effort needed if man is to someday set foot on Mars. It is a story of challenges, setbacks and triumphs...and ultimately, the shared international victory of men and women whose dreams exceed the limits of life on the earth.
