There are nine '''Aspect''' ratings which represent a Dragon's ability to access and utilise his spheres effectively. Each ''Sphere'' has ''three Aspects'' tied to it.

Humans, in contrast, tend to have a Soma rating of 5-15, and Pneuma/Sophis ratings of 35-45.

''Aspects'' start with an equivalent rating to their parent sphere. For example, if you have Pneuma 5 then your Pyr, Polymechania and Pathos are by default 5.

You can add +1 to an Aspect by deducting -1 from another Aspect. However at character generation no Aspect may be more than one point higher or lower than its default value.

==Soma Aspects==

* '''Sarx''' - This Aspect represents the raw power of flesh and muscle. It determines a dragon's strength and also his toughness.

* '''Tachos''' - This Aspect relates to physical movement. It helps with tasks of agility, of aerobatics and speed. In combat it helps with evading injury.

* '''Akribeia''' - This Aspect relates to precision and co-ordination. It is used for tasks of dexterity, of fine motor control and for accuracy at range.

==Sophia Aspects==

* '''Episteme''' - This Aspect relates to knowledge and learning. Helps determine how well educated and well informed the character is, as well as how easily he absorbs new information.

* '''Enkrateia''' - This Aspect relates to mental self mastery. It helps with inner belief, willpower, determination and resisting the influence of others.

* '''Synesis''' - This Aspect relates to perception and awareness. It helps with both awareness of the physical world, and also of awareness of social and magical factors.

<br>

==Pneuma Aspects==

* '''Pyr''' - This Aspect represents the inner fire within a dragon. It determines overall magical power, and also helps with aggression and anger.
+
Your base rating is determined by your Draconic Breed.
* '''Polymechania''' - This is the Aspect of inventiveness. It helps with artistic inspiration and technical invention. Also, though, it lends additional versatility to a Dragon's magic.

* '''Pathos''' - This is the aspect of evoking emotion in others. It helps with manipulation, presence, seduction, charisma, intimidation, etc.

Note that an average dragon has a rating of 6 in any given Aspect, and will not usually have any Aspect lower than 4 or higher than 9.

An average human has a rating of 2 in any given Aspect, with the range of human capability running from 1 to 3.

This means that even the slowest witted and most socially incompetent dragon is still smarter and more socially adept than the best of humankind. This should be borne in mind - there are no idiot dragons out there.

Overview of Core Framework

  • Breed Ratings: Record your Pneuma, Soma and Sophis as determined by breed.
  • Variations: Add +5 to one Sphere, and deduct -5 from another Sphere.

The Three Spheres

There are three Sphere ratings which reflect a Dragon's power.

Soma is the sphere of the physical, reflecting the power of the dragon's flesh, muscle and bone. Draconic breeds with stronger Soma tend to be physically adept generally, with greater strength, toughness and agility.

Sophia is the sphere of the mental, reflecting the power of the dragon's mind. Draconic breeds with stronger Sophia tend to be mentally adept generally, with greater willpower, knowledge and awareness.

Pneuma is the sphere of breath, reflecting the power of the dragon's soul. Draconic belief has it that breath is the source of magic, of beauty and of inner creativity. Draconic breeds with stronger Pneuma tend to be more magically adept, more passionate, more creative and more emotionally intelligent.

Note that a Sphere Rating of 50 is average for Dragons.

Humans, in contrast, tend to have a Soma rating of 5-15, and Pneuma/Sophis ratings of 35-45.

Breed Ratings

Your base rating is determined by your Draconic Breed.
