The Great Train Route skirts the edge of Topanga at a city called Crestview.  From there local transportation can be used for travel inside Topanga.
  
Primarially an artist's residential encampment it houses distinctive businesses and festivals.

For local use a tram service runs through the tight twisting area on road barely wide enough for trams to pass each other.  Tiny vehicles similar to golf-carts are used by locals. Animals like horses, dottles, llama, ostriches, and goats are common. Wagons using wheels or levitation plates are hand pulled or animal pulled.

The encampment is unusual since besides small theaters and performance venue it is mostly residential areas.  There are many franchise restaurants and business areas nestled into the canyons but they blend in well and are hardly noticeable unless you drive through them.
