Amelia Hernstine was born into a middle of the road family in Cambridge England. The only child of a miner and semstress her life was full of love and nurturing. She attended school and graduated with honors.
Life after school found her taking a job at Cambridge University in the Library as a file clerk. She enjoyed it immensly, surrounded by ancient text and knowledgable people. It is also where she found the man she would marry, Charles Langdon.
