Amelia Hernstine
Amelia Hernstine was born in 1876 into a middle of the road family in Cambridge England. The only child of a miner and semstress her life was full of love and nurturing. She attended school and graduated with honors.
Life after school found her taking a job at Cambridge University in the Library as a file clerk. She enjoyed it immensly, surrounded by ancient text and knowledgable people. It is also where she found the man she would marry, Charles Langdon.
She wed Charles Langdon in 1896, and they immediatly tried to start a family. They were unsuccessful until fall of 1903 when Amelia found out she was pregnant. She carried the child to full term, giving birth to her only child Amanda.
Unfortunately this is where her life ended, the bactial infection of the caesarean section was her ultimate killer, she was only allowed a few days with Amanda and Charles before she passed.
