You run, and you run, but so do your problems. You stop at a bar, and the bar gets set on fire, well at least not before meeting a hottie. Give her a "see you later" and keep running. Run until the night comes and you reach a monk reciting mantras and whatnot. A woman was at his side, saying almost nothing and what she said sounded only like noises. Huh, maybe you can stay for a while and listen. Maybe your, not so human, companion can be a freaking curious bastard and end up freeing a crazy wild spirit. Say you are sorry, give your contact info, promise you will be back to help. But you still have to run, because your traps are not ready yet and the day when prey becomes predator is still not here.

How lucky that things in China have been cheap! Who cares if you don't sleep enough? Reinforcements are not coming, not that Chance really needs it, he just needs a little more time and an opportunity. No time to stop here and there and help others, he has to run. And he ran, until he found a couple Red Court vampires, and they are never up to something good, even more so if there is more than one. So Chance stops, brings his sword and starts his hunt. It led him to a church, a place monsters and men were bringing violence. So he brings out another sword, because innocent blood is a good reason to stop. Such stupidity, to think he had a chance. Thank the freaking Templar that was there, or all this running would have been for nothing. Chance resumes running, not before a question from Jess in German: "Never imagined you lobbing a man's head. I thought you only used one sword, why two?" The answer was quite cryptic: "They are both for monsters."

All of these artlices have saved me a lot of headaches.

Background

Lived in France during childhood. Always liked writing and learning languages, as time went by the interest grew for more unusual languages. How lucky it was to find books that explained what was happening with him, magic powers and all. How lucky indeed, only if he had time to learn more before "something" came for the book, maimed him, killed his father and sent his mother to a mental institution.

The next years were filled with sadness and regret, until two men offered him a chance to walk again and to improve himself. They offered training and explanations, all they asked for was an oath. Little did he know how that would change him, but if life gave him a chance he would take it, even if that dreaded concoction tasted like rotten trash with sand.

Basic training was finished and Chance had to leave. Back to Europe and looking for trouble, Chance ended up in Germany following news of a creature that forced men to give him their daughters. Truth was that at one point this creature paid for the women to live there for a year and rarely would they share a bed. But this creature was losing its conscience, being afraid to hurt the girls it stopped allowing them there. In fact a lesser vampire was doing this to Jess, a weird shapshifter. Without Jess paying greed fathers, soon the people became more and more intolerant against him. Jess repented and with Chance they almost died trying to get rid of the vampire, later they would learn it was a Black Court spawn. Fire was set to Jess' house and they ran east...
