John Vinson

John Vinson Joseph Krips farewell concert with the San Francisco Symphony in 1970, playing Beethoven's 9th. Huge chorus (including an amazing children's chorus), they and the instrumentalists played their hearts out. I suspect the impact of the instant standing ovation at the end showed up on seismometers.

Stephen J. Hughes

Stephen J. Hughes For a few reasons - one is a science fiction reason - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young I Boston - Cannot recall venue - it was large, though, 1970 or slightly earlier. At one point - At the end of a long ovation - David Crosby said very loudly "I grok!" - made me smile then - made me smile now.

Kate Cunningham Haven't been to a lot of concerts, but one that stands out was Grateful Dead at the Oxford Plains Speedway, July 4 1988. Great weather, an epic jam session, and somehow I managed to not get sunburned, which might be the most impressive part of the day.
