Demon: the Fallen: The Ruins of Eden

Once, we soared above the fields of Paradise on wings of light. Once, we shepherded fledgling humanity and oversaw the Grand Design of the Lord. Once, we were innocent and pure in our service, knowing only love, devotion and faith. And then, doubt crept into our hearts, and we conceived of an idea that had once been impossible - to second-guess God Himself, and follow our own wisdom instead of His law.

We rose up in rebellion. We were defeated. We were imprisoned. For endless eons, we soaked in the poison of our own bitterness and hatred. Until one day, the walls of Hell itself began to crumble, and the least among us crawled through the cracks and escaped into a world changed beyond comprehension.

Now, in a place called Los Angeles, we seek to find our path anew. The fullness of our past might is lost to us, but we have grown crafty in defeat, and humans are easily seduced with promises of power and glory, protection and succor. Beneath us, the Pit yawns wide, and from its depths our masters bellow for their own release. Behind us, a thousand unanswered questions taunt. Before us, the promise of a return to godhood beckon. Beside us, twisted things as far fallen from demons as we are from angels spin their schemes for mad dominion. Our future is at last our own to shape, but will we choose fidelity, or redemption, or the quest for answers, or the bid for power?

Is it better to rule in Hell than to serve in Heaven?
