Ivan's West Marches

Introduction

Greetings everyone, Due to conversations with several people, I have been inspired to run a massive game, and I would love to invite you all to it. I plan to run a West Marches, play by post game, with Savage Worlds on https://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/DissidiaTemplar_West_Marches/ For those that do not know, West Marches is an RPG style where the party are part of a large group of active members and some number of supporting NPC’s explore, develop, and fight against the darkness in an ever-widening area around out in the deep wilderness. The setting functions much like a sandbox, with the party being given hold of the adventuring company, its wellbeing and the layout of the immediate world;and are allowed to do as they wish. Play by Post is a play style where all actions are on a communal website and players are expected to make text posts regularly conveying their characters actions and reactions, while the GM narrates the world for them around their characters. Of those who choose to participate with us, I will expect posting a few times per week, and semi-active involvement with the adventuring company. I am going to run a fantasy world, full of magic and monsters. As part of the initial gameplay, each player can help establish an organization or faction that we will be interacting with. These factions can be as expansive as an entire race to as small as a cult within the region, up to y'all to choose which. To help develop our setting and starting area, I plan to use the Microscope system which is a cooperative world building system. After cooperatively creating the region, expect the world to continually expand and have opportunities to explore the hooks we created communally and more. I will be running the game using Savage Worlds Deluxe Explorer’s Edition, after the world building. For those of you new to Savage Worlds, it is a very generic system and I am happy to inform you of all aspects of what it is and what you can do in it. Once I have those of interest we will discuss sites, expectations and the like. What say you brave adventures?
