This could go a lot of different ways.  She could become his most staunch ally, carefully detailing every contract he has to signIt's not clear how Heywesh will react to Lura's inevitable romantic pursuits, but he knows they are coming.  He's also dreading her attempts to find him a woman to experience a romance (sans consummation of the affair, of course).

While he does not lust after his wife, he needs her.  He needs her to be by his side, and he needs her to be dependent on him. What lengths he goes to ensure that may determine how much of a villain Heywesh can become.

==Plans for his Domain==

Wolves may demand territory, but they must also retain their territoryThere are too many unknowns for Heywesh to go on an active campaign of expansion.  Before he does that, he needs to:

#Cement his control over his new domain.  Build his personal guard and his roadmen, and build holdings that will allow for more productive and less troublesome regions.

#Find out more about the the fall of the previous Ven who attempted to colonize the Black Isles.  It makes no sense for a second wave of Ven to be so blind as to make the same mistakes as the first.

#Find out more about the other Blooded hired by the Marquis.  Who are allies, enemies, talented, foolish... he must know this.

The more he finds out about these three matters, the more he will explore and conquer.

This page describes some of Heywesh Tal's plans & secrets, as well as some of my (Heywesh's player) plans & secrets. This page exists because Into the Light is a friendly game. I fully expect that players reading this will use the information to improve play.

Heywesh's secret name

S'Roveed, "I ruin families"

How is Heywesh Tragic?

If you look at Heywesh's aspects, you see the three central relationships that define him. His attention is divided between a father he wants approval from (and will likely never get), and a wife he does not desire. On the father side of the equation, it's a matter of choosing when to reject the bravado his father wants and when to try to act in accordance with it. On the wife side, it's a matter of caring for her but without seeing her as an equal at all. Both are dysfunctional, and both put demands on him that should conflict eventually.

Then there's the third: he's a Senvu Swordsman. Not just that, but he worships a defender of the Law. He has taken his sword school's philosophy as his personal ethic, one based on loyalty and obligation. This is his escape. He is hoping to escape the previous two relationship's dysfunctions by becoming a saintly swordmaster. This should be the icing on the cake when it comes to putting his motivations into motion.

At any rate, these are my thoughts before play starts.

OOC opinions on how the characters will interact

  • Tomasz. To say that Heywesh trusts Tomasz is going too far, but he's the least paranoid about his cousin. He's a known quantity, and has a decent reputation.
  • Niassa. Heywesh's initial opinion will be based on how she & Tomasz interact.
  • Ryandual. If, right now at the beginning of play, I had to bet which PC Heywesh would dislike the most, it would be Ryandual. He seems the most opposite.

Specific Plans

  • Get The Oath & the ability to use it. Doing so will help him build his domain
  • Find out what happened to the first set of Ven colonists.
    • Figure out how to avoid it happening to Heywesh.
  • Use a wisdom roll or a style point at a convenient juncture to bring Heywesh's father into the game. More style for Heywesh, an opportunity for plot developments for everybody.
  • Become as good of a swordsman as possible.
  • Eventually found a Temple to his patron Suaven.
