Some time ago I sponsored a caravan to head west, to Hob and the civilizations to be found along this river. Alas! We were ambushed by a band of merciless monsters -- large brutish ogres -- that slaughtered my guards, stole my goods and took a score of us captive. One by one my companions were placed in the ogres' stew pot and devoured; I am the only survivor, and managed to escape their lair a week ago, whence I began to make my way west until I collapsed here, too tired to continue!
