ReforgeTheChain

When Lionelle was a child, her parents lived in a border town. Small but prosperous, benefiting from trade across the badlands. But the country progressively splintered, the royal army disbanded and was no longer able to keep ravening humanoids away from the borders, and the town was sacked and burned to the ground. Her family fled with all the other refugees, resettling within the kingdom.

Having experienced first hand how precarious life can be, she joined the Church of Erathis when she came of age. An obscure but ancient faith, it has charted the rise and fall of empires, always promoting the virtues of unity and civilisation in the teeth of chaos. You only really appreciate something when it's gone. They have the knowledge and the tools to restore the kingdom - if the waves of chaos can be held back for long enough for Law to take root, it will spread and grow again.

Lionelle has worked tirelessly as an agent of the church, safeguarding and encouraging those areas still flourishing, and alternately bringing down the forces that threaten them. Now a valued and independent member of the church, she has license to pursue the church's aims as she seems fit. As in the church's practice, she had been assigned an assistant, a young cleric named Thomas, to support her in her endeavours.
