Return to main page.

A bunch of stuff happens, but since Janitor is dead it probably isn't important.

Janitor reboots on a strange vessel, hooked up to a strange gemcore. He begins to panic, but Gobi managed to stop him from disconnecting himself from the jury-rigged power supply. He is told that The Mulish Mermaid has been stolen and its NPC crew kidnapped. The party has 'acquired' the SS Crimes from Byron Exohar.

Janitor, through his connection with the Mermaid, is able to sense which direction the ship has been taken. They are eventually able to track the ship to a rocky realmstar with a dock and strange black tower.

The party spends roughly 12 hours deciding on a course of action and eventually lands on "park the ship and walk over to the Mermaid." Unfortunately, the ship is empty. The party heads to the tower in the hope of finding the kidnapped crewmembers. Starla knocks on the door and tries to talk her way past the zombie doorman, but the zombie has none of it and combat ensues. The party takes a serious beating but manages to put down the undead guards. They descend a staircase, find their comrades chained up, and free them.

After ascending the stairs, the party comes face-to-face with Sonya - an extremely tall vampire. Starla, excited to meet such a powerful and influential figure, tries to bard it up but, once again, is stymied. Sonya grows more and more angry. Starla offers her a piece of cake. Bravado activates his clown wig and becomes four illusory clowns. Sonya really doesn't like this. Combat again breaks out, but the party quickly realizes that they are deeply outmatched. Bravado pushes Sonya over and Starla shoves cake in her mouth. Janitor taunts Sonya to draw her ire, giving the rest of the party a window to escape. Soon they are bolting to the docks.

Unfortunately, Byron is waiting for them with two dozen crossbow-wielding thugs. Starla and Bravado both try, unsuccessfully, to magically influence him into letting them pass. Janitor dramatically pretends that he is preparing to invoke his mystical bond with the Mermaid, briefly confusing the thugs, and the party again runs away. Their escape is aided by the sudden appearance of a tremendously pissed-off vampire lady, which panics the thugs. As the thugs engage in terrified combat with Sonya, the party escapes and heads back to Glassfall.
