Dreamwarden's Stone

  • A small sphere with an iridescent mother-of-pearl sheen to it this hearthstone is named for its keeper's ability to watch over the dreams of others, to make sure they are not plagued by nightmares, and to be on the lookout for darkness on the dreamscape's horizon. Besides being granted the benefit of the Lucid Dreamer merit while touching the stone, the owner can enter the dreams of others as well. To do so, the bearer must be able to see or touch the target, must possess an arcane link, or must have spoken to the target for at least a minute within the last 24 hours and know her name. The bearer may observe the subject's dreams, speak with the dreamer or alter those dreams as she pleases, turning them into marvelous fantasies or horrific nightmares. A dream of suffering death or serious harm costs the dreamer one point of temporary Willpower unless her player succeeds at a difficulty 2 Willpower roll to wake up from the nightmare. No matter how horrific the dream, dreamers cannot lose more than three points of Willpower per night.
  • Other people can wake up the dreamer by all normal means. The dreamer also awakens at her normal rising time. The dreamer's player must succeed at an (Intelligence+Awareness) roll to remember these dreams; additional successes provide greater detal.

Gemstone of Essence Flows

  • This hearthstone is a brilliant glittering stone that shines when it is attuned to an Essence user. This stone serves as a conscious control over the flows of Essence within an Essence User. Any effects that impact the character's essence use, such as charms that increase the cost of using charms or effects that directly drain essence from the character's pool such as soulsteel, give you a (Willpower+Essence) roll vs. a difficulty of (Enemy's Permanent Essence) to cancel that effect. Whenever an effect would affect your essence pool the gem flickers brightly. As a secondary effect, any item that this item is attached to, so long as the hearthstone is attuned and functioning, is unable to be deattuned from the wielder as long as it is held. Effects that normally deattune a weapon automatically fail. Releasing an attuned item, such as a Daiklave, will cause it to deattune normally.
