Peace talks between the Allied leadership of Great Britain and France and The Empire of Russia continued at the Tuileries Palace this week. Tsarist chief diplomat Nicholas Alexandrovich, Tsarevich of Russia gave a statement saying that he expects a treaty to be concluded within “a matter of a few days.”
Recent nationalist uprisings in the Provinces of Wallachia, Moldova, and in the Transylvanian provinces of the Hapsburg Empire have given impetus to negotiations that had appeared stalled of the question of on the status of Allied possessions in the Crimea, particularly the fortified city of Sebastopol.
