Repentia's life started on a ship and she's pretty sure  (or at least prays) that she will die in the cold embrace of the Void.  For her, she could see life and death in no other way.  Originally born on an Imperial Navy vessel and as such, conscripted into service, she was lucky enough to have been a part of the Officer Caste.  She was not destined for anything special, or so she thought, with both parents of middling importance and rank.  She was trained in all the various general courses for pre-Officer preparation school and on her aptitude tests it showed her having a great deal of promise as a future Augery Special Officer.  Other tests would have shown that Repentia was utterly ruthless and determined with a genuine touch of psychopathy in her personality.  Luckily for her, those tests were not administered at the appropriate times.  Repentia studied, trained, killed, and screwed everyone in a position of authority  (and many who were not) to become one of the youngest junior Auger Officers in the Calixis sector on a her Sword Class Frigate - "Emperor's Fury" in the past century and was well on her way to murd... maneuvering herself into the more senior position  (and the promotion to Lieutenant Commander, and the SENIOR staff quarters!) when everything went ploin-shaped.

There was a God-Emperor forsaken mutiny on the ship.  All the Loyalist officers were put to the wall, the ship was in turmoil for days with Armsman fighting against Armsman and each side's force fighting for control of the Bridge and the ship.  Repentia was not senior enough  (although she had quite a following of men and women...) for the Traitors or the Loyalists to have been interested in.  She was scooped up in the first wave by the Traitors and tossed into an Underdeck prison until all the fighting could be sorted out.  She was to be released after everyone that needed being shot was and then They could figure out what the fate of the junior officers and specialists would be.  Her parents, however, were not so lucky:  killed in the first hours as Loyalists and vacuumed into the Void with the others.  Repentia knew nothing of their deaths and also figured to be released soon.  Unfortunately, the provocateur that rounded her and some of the others up and threw them into the Underdeck, was killed in the fighting as well.
