He is royal blood on the fey side so when he spends about 20 pips on powers the rest will start to get easier.  I'll have to think on that.  In roleplaying it out taking time to gain powers would mean not having to pay pips for them.

They are shocked to find such a higher fey willing to spend time with him and all the fey of the realm want to spend time with him.  He helps with fey issues, maybe even dealing with fey predators.

* Donovan returns to Nu Yark and goes to the Fey Swirls there, becoming part of their ruling bodies. Has much the same effect on the fey there, with them eager to associate with such a fey.

After some suitable RP time frame he would gain all the powers since he would be training them with local fey.  He would be able to come and go for RP purposes but they would all be seen as settling down and maturing.

Maturing in Amber would be hard because of the time frame but a lot of the Fey from Arden would follow him to wherever he did go.  Probably a lot.  He has a growing faction among Arden Fey that returning the Stone got started.  He is something like 4th or 5th in the line of Succession.  Under Titania are 3 children, including Elfwyne.  Cyrene is her sister and Donovan her only child. Claiming his position publicly in the Fey Court would be a huge step.  But he is also of Julian's Blood.  That means an Amber linieage but also a Prince's title in Adagalasck.

Whatever main alt form he takes will follow him for many years.

Age 30

Donovan is the son of Julian and a high lady of the Fae Court, Cyrene*.  The court approached Julian to hold midsummer night festivities in one of the glades of Arden, a courtesy enacted every year and Julian attended. Cyrene’s wild feral warrior nature caught his attention.   A passionate huntress, the two had a brief but rare relationship for either, based on a mutual love the forest, animals and the hunt.  When she found out she was pregnant, Julian and Cyrene made an arrangement that Donovan would be raised in Amber during the winter months and in the fae high court in the summer months once Donovan was five mortal years.  He split time in Arden and among the fea, learning the ways of both.

As he approached his teen years, he came to live with rangers and has been there for a short while refining his tracking, hunting and fighting skills.  Skills that he started learning well in his mother’s court.  

Julian not much of the paternal sort, left the raising of Donovan to those of the Arden rangers and any cousins’ parents who might have been the same age.  He was something of a mascot when he was young.  His brother Duncan fairly doted on him as a kindred spirit, raised in Arden, not often in Amber.

He is generally fond of the family in sort of an amused way from afar way.  I imagine he and his cousins may have had a few nights out wenching, gambling and drinking together. 
  
He approaches whatever he sets his mind to with a focused passion.  Whether it is his role in the Rangers, partying and flirting or the machinations of his mother’s court.

The name Cyrene is extremely usable and is sure to stand the test of time.









==GM appraisal- Monday Feb 10 ==

Looking over Donovan I have this general appraisal of his abilities.  I see him still as a young and growing character.  I am pleased with him in general and look forward to his further adventues and time allows.  Slap me around if i keep forgetting Discord.
===Stats===
His str and Endurance means he could dig the passage wide and do it for a long time.  That would leave him exhausted and at the bottom of a long tunnel. 

===Pips on hand===
He has 12 pips in storage, 3 in good stuff, 

===Desri and company===
He has been obsessing about being with a seriously bad-stuff death goddess.  A hot one to be sure.   She could easily teach him dark spells, war magic.  Even the Taking ritual.  She is a source for improving his PSYCHE and WARFARE.  She can help him learn Ritualism.  She can teach advances Sorcery and Advanced Conjuration.

She has 3 Taken.  Each of these are powerful creatures and each has their own agenda to make them more important to Desri and one up on each of the other Taken.  All 3 would gladly help Donovan in any adventures and they have Desri's permission to do so.  But remember they are magically bound to her and they are all three pretty deeply evil.

===Shapeshifter===
He could over time have allocated 15 pips to take shape-change.  Shifting to a snake or a large tunnel animal would let him advance into the tunnel pretty well.

He has some shapeshifting powers to develop under fey powers.

**Anyone can have a dozen or so cantrips for no pips. Their psyche practically oozes cantrips.  Having a pip in it means he spent time in study of Cantripy.   He could have another dozen cantrips easily

* 15 sorcery-Fey trained Sorcery.   I see this as meaning most of the spells he learned at first were nature oriented.  Spell tomes are in the library to learn more.

* 10 Limited Conjuration.  Limited conjuration allows him to summon non-magical items from generally nearby shadows.  He can not yet create the short term magical items or spent the time to create long term ones.

===Elite===
Donovan was originally assigned Sir Farooq as his elite but he got left behind in Nu Yark, and the stone kept him away.  After that he made a few attempts to reconnect.  He then returned to Amber and requested reassignment.

Donovan currently has no Active Elite.  Random knows most his kin do not like the whole elite business so he does not push it.  Donovan could request a new elite.  One better suited him.  It is known that every amberite has an Elite assigned to them.  If they do not actually follow them, they are responsible to keep track of them so the king can always ask where the relative is?   The difference is between Active Elite and Passive Elite.  Currently Donovan has a Passive Elite-One that does not involve themselves in his activities but tries to keep track of him.

===Rangers===
It isn't mentioned much but he spent half his time growing up around the rangers.  He would have a great many pioneering and woodcraft abilities.  He has a Ranger kit he would have practically worn half his life.  Its on his page now. 

===Family===
He has an extremely complicated family.  

*The Fey side want him to become the Stag King.  This would mean taking a year to have horns grafted to his head that makes him ultra virile.  And yes he would screw about anything that left him.  It would also have fertility powers like area magic effecting plants and livestock.  He would be encouraged to travel around the Fey homes through Amber, spreading prosperity and fertility. Its an honor but one that's is filled with annoying rituals, ceremonies, and magics.  They won't force it on him but they hope he will someday serve in the office.

In general they want to have a Stag King every 100 years.  There has not been one since before Patternfall. 

The next time he drops by the family homestead he will be told, in conversation, that they have also offered the Stag king to 4 others: Arloxedra, Borlak, Asher, and a Fey Troll Lord.   Arlo is considering it.  Asher spends time among the Fey and would probably make a big production of it and be honored by it.  Borlak has an invitation dating back thousands of years and Titiana and Random are worried that after his defeat in combat to Alexandir Kos Korag, he might claim the title.  The Troll Lord is an odd but reasonable choice

*Julian Side.

While the Rangers are a big part of Donovan's life so is his Father.  Julian is currently King of Adagalasck and that pakes Donovan a Prince as soon as he goes to see Julian there.  Duncan has done so.  He says the Prince title has little effect in Amber, same as royal titles in other shadows.  But in the realm it has a great deal of oompf. the Political situation there is stable with just some mop up wars to keep him busy for the next decade.   Donovan visiting is a reasonable arc.
