===Tomes, Books and Scrolls===
 +
''Tomes on arcane philosophy that contain rituals. Such ritual books are part of the treasure you acquire while adventuring. The value of a blank ritual book is 50 gp. A ritual book is 128 pages long. Each ritual takes up a number of pages equal to its level. The description of each ritual gives its market price, which is the gold piece cost for a book containing that ritual or the cost to add the new ritual to your existing ritual book or spellbook (if there’s enough room in it).''

 +
*  '''The Things that Crawl and Worm''' <br> This book is reasonably easy to understand. With a bit of reading, it will be revealed that it has little useful information. Though flawed, one can definitely see that the contents have moments of intriguing originality. "Animal Messenger":  You whisper to the animal before you, and it bounds off in the direction you point to carry your message. (Ritual Book)
 +
*  '''The Integument of The Community of Nature: New Speculations'''  <br> This book is all but impossible to understand thanks to there being no coherent organization whatsoever. If one miraculously managed to understand the book's contents, that person will find it has a lot useful information. One will also find that the contents have moments of intriguing originality. "Commune with Nature":  By communing with the spirits of the land, you know exactly where to find food, shelter, or a clue to the location of the thing you seek. (Ritual Scroll)
 +
*  '''A Tutorial To the Defenses Against the Mites Within'''  <br> This book is of average clarity. Sitting down with it will reveal it is reasonably useful. After a quick examination, one will find that the contents have moments of intriguing originality. "Cure Disease":  Even the most horrid affliction disappears in response to your healing touch. (Ritual Scroll)
 +
*  '''Minor Legend of the Wonderful Storm Gods'''  <br> This book is of average clarity due to the good diagrams. Reading it will show that it is extremely informative. Sadly, the contents are not very original. Examining the book, one will find: Bookmarks marking pages that seem to have some errors in them. Pieces of paper with notes expanding on informative information in the book. "Endure Elements":  Neither the biting cold nor the searing heat troubles you anymore. You travel in arctic or desert wastes as comfortably as in temperate climates. (Ritual Book)
 +
*  '''An Examination of Classic Necromancy'''  <br> This book is of above-average clarity because of the good references. This clarity allows one to determine that it is reasonably useful. After a quick examination, one will find that the contents were probably taken from several works. Examining the book, one will find: Written notes commenting critically on related elements in the book Bookmarks marking pages that seem to have some errors in them. "Gentle Repose":  Your practiced hands perform the ritual fast enough to preserve the body for a later casting of Raise Dead. (Ritual Book)
 +
*  '''The Theological Conflicts and Holding Them at Bay'''  <br> This book is not very clear because of the poor diagrams. With time, intellect, or both, one can make sense of the book, and it will reveal it has little useful information. Making the book virtually useless, it appears that the contents are not very original. "Magic Circle":  The circle of symbols scratched into the ground glows and sparks briefly as the demon tests the boundary. “This will not save you for long!” it hisses. (Ritual Scroll)
 +
*  '''The All-Powerful Voice of the Prince'''  <br> This book is reasonably clear thanks to the well-done illustrations that make up for a lack of coherent planning. With a bit of reading, it will be revealed that it is reasonably useful. After some reading, it is apparent that the concepts in the book do show a lot of original thought. Examining the book, one will find: Bookmarks that show no pattern in their location. Pieces of paper with notes, in some kind of code, commenting critically on related elements in the book. "Magic Mouth":  The stone wall grinds as it reshapes into the semblance of dry, cracked lips framing teeth like canting tombstones. “Beware!” it says. (Ritual Scroll)
 +
*  '''The Death-Rattle Prayers'''  <br> This book is easy to understand. A short look at the book will show that it is reasonably useful. After some reading, it is apparent that the contents contain some original thought. "Speak with Dead":  At your prompt, the corpse reveals its secrets to you. (Ritual Scroll)

"Ceremonial Implement of Orcus"[edit]

Ceremonial Implement of Orcus

(Dagger Lvl 5, "+2 Lifedrinker" [PHB p.235]):

Associated with the Blooding Rites of Orcus, the implement itself is a a keen blade made of either the bones or the 'resin' of an abyssal, making it resistant to their acidic blood. The blade hums in a sick green pulse until it draws blood, which appears as black icor seeming inward. This dagger of a Deathpriest of Orcus is in best use when waiting for the best moment to invoke its dark blessing.
This weapon transfers an enemy’s vitality to you.
Estimated Value: 5,000 gp
Enhancement: +2 Attack rolls and damage rolls
Critical: +2d6 necrotic damage
Property: When you drop an enemy to 0 hit points or fewer with a melee attack made with this weapon, gain 5 temporary hit points.
Note: The surfaces of this weapon are repeatedly carven-over with the symbols of Erathis.

"The Wincing Wand"[edit]

(Lvl 1, +1 "Cause Fear" [PHB p.63])

What looks at first to be a narled burnt sliver of metal - this slender tapered piece of darkwood, is enchanted to channel arcane energy, is lackered in black and blood red symbols incorporating skulls and bones, ram’s horns, and blasphemous runes describing the excellent ways it will aid the user in the spread of suffering.
This unholy symbol ignites with the fury of the Demon Prince. Uncontrollable terror grips your enemy, causing him to instantly recoil.
Estimated Value: 360 gp
Standard Action
Ranged 10
Target: One creature
Attack: Wisdom vs. Will
Hit: The target moves its speed + your Charisma modifier away from you. The fleeing target avoids unsafe squares and difficult terrain if it can. This movement provokes opportunity attacks.
Charges Remaining: 9

"Unlife's Ambition"[edit]

(Lvl 1, +1 "Turn Undead" [PHB p.62])

This adamantine laced siver circlet first sits on the wearer's head, then clutches it! Enacting the voices of the crimson acolyte within us all!! The voices want to be heard, so much to command but in the unbelievers it is difficult to find the words... When in use the band pulses in a sickly green hue before turning onyx.
Channel Divinity: Turn Undead, as Cleric Feature.
You sear undead foes, push them back, and root them in place.
Encounter - Divine, Implement, Radiant; Standard Action Close burst 2
Target: Each undead creature in burst
Attack: Wisdom vs. Will
Hit: 1d10 + Wisdom modifier radiant damage, and you push the target a number of squares equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. The target is immobilized until the end of your next turn.
Miss: Half damage, and the target is not pushed or immobilized.

"Heartclutch"[edit]

Heartclutch

(Battleaxe Lvl 5, "+1 Necrotic" [PHB p.235]):

A companion piece to a Deathpriest's "Ceremonial Implement of Orcus", this masterwork axe bares the skull of Orcus across the double blades and was the masterwork signature weapon of the Anti-paladin Dezinax. This weapon strikes at an enemy’s vitality, dealing additional necrotic damage each time it hits.
Estimated Value: 3,000 gp
Enhancement: +1 Attack rolls and damage rolls
Critical: + 1d6 necrotic damage
Property: Weapon deals an additional +1d6 Necrotic Damage on hit.

"Demon Hide"[edit]

(Platemail, +1 "Black Iron Armor" [PHB p.227]):

Lvl 4 +1 840 gp
Armor: Plate
Enhancement: AC
Property: Resist 5 fire and resist 5 necrotic.

Tomes, Books and Scrolls[edit]

Tomes on arcane philosophy that contain rituals. Such ritual books are part of the treasure you acquire while adventuring. The value of a blank ritual book is 50 gp. A ritual book is 128 pages long. Each ritual takes up a number of pages equal to its level. The description of each ritual gives its market price, which is the gold piece cost for a book containing that ritual or the cost to add the new ritual to your existing ritual book or spellbook (if there’s enough room in it).

  • The Things that Crawl and Worm
This book is reasonably easy to understand. With a bit of reading, it will be revealed that it has little useful information. Though flawed, one can definitely see that the contents have moments of intriguing originality. "Animal Messenger": You whisper to the animal before you, and it bounds off in the direction you point to carry your message. (Ritual Book)
  • The Integument of The Community of Nature: New Speculations
This book is all but impossible to understand thanks to there being no coherent organization whatsoever.
  • A Tutorial To the Defenses Against the Mites Within
This book is of average clarity. Sitting down with it will reveal it is reasonably useful. After a quick examination, one will find that the contents have moments of intriguing originality. "Cure Disease": Even the most horrid affliction disappears in response to your healing touch. (Ritual Scroll)
  • Minor Legend of the Wonderful Storm Gods
This book is of average clarity due to the good diagrams.
  • An Examination of Classic Necromancy
This book is of above-average clarity because of the good references.
  • The Theological Conflicts and Holding Them at Bay
This book is not very clear because of the poor diagrams.
  • The All-Powerful Voice of the Prince
This book is reasonably clear thanks to the well-done illustrations that make up for a lack of coherent planning.
  • The Death-Rattle Prayers
This book is easy to understand. A short look at the book will show that it is reasonably useful. After some reading, it is apparent that the contents contain some original thought. "Speak with Dead": At your prompt, the corpse reveals its secrets to you. (Ritual Scroll)
  • The Capitol's Early Travels
This book is easily understandable due to careful, well-planned chapters. This clarity allows one to determine that it is extremely informative. One will also find that the contents provide an occasional insight or new idea. "Travelers’ Feast": Food for your entire group materializes out of the air, enough to sustain you through a long day’s march. (Ritual Book)
  • A Tome of Ancient Things
This book is of average clarity mostly due to the good references that almost make up for a meandering writing style. A small study will show it has no useful information. One may be deterred from reading it, but it is evident that the contents have a few areas of deep insight. Examining the book, one will find: A map can be found in the back of the book. "Comprehend Language": As you finish the ritual, the guttural language of the creatures before you clarifies into something you understand. (Ritual Book)
  • The Primal Organization of Wholeness: Unexpected Similarities
This book is not very clear due to the poor diagrams. If someone makes an effort to read it, they will find it has a lot useful information. Making it even more of a find, the concepts in the book do show a lot of original thought. Make Whole: As you finish the ritual, the oaken door stands whole and unblemished as if Orten the Rager hadn’t just burst through it with murder in his eyes. It’s the least you can do after using the inn to ambush the infamous barbarian. (Ritual Book)

Available Ritual Materials: Scrolls: Commune with Nature, Cure Disease, Magic Circle, Magic Mouth, Speak with Dead. Books: Animal Messenger, Endure Elements, Gentle Repose, Traveler's Feast, Make Whole.
