Dreams of the First Age

The history of the Solars is a history of betrayal, and that's truer of no one than it is of the First Age incarnation of Storm of Amber. He was betrayed not by his Dragon-Blooded vassals, not by his Sidereal advisors, not by his Lunar mate, but by the hand of his brother Solars. An outrider for the Deliberative, he travelled the far fringes of Creation, bringing the judgements and justice of his peers. But, as exposed to mortals as he was he came to care for them much more than did their other Solar lords, isolated in their manses.

As the First Age wore on and the Solars' pride and decadence increased by leaps and bounds, Kahroba put himself between the mortals and their cruelty. In their rage at his temerity, his brothers struck him down. They sealed away his spear, tore apart his elemental servants and buried his corpse in a far-off tomb before finally realizing the shame of what they'd done and guiltily striking his name from their roles.

A short while later this nameless Zenith Exalted again and things had only gotten worse. The Solars were more decadent, their depradations more foul. When the Usurpation came shortly thereafter, the young Solar didn't stand a chance against the sworn brotherhood of Dragon-Blooded who came for him, nor had he done anything to deserve their wrath.
