'''More Powerful than a Locomotive''' seems surprisingly hard to quantify, except that judging by the average freight train he should be able to pull at least 5,000 tons worth of train cars, and probably lift some small fraction of that. Nominally, She-Hulk can do 100+ tons at her baseline strength, Spiderman 10 or 25 depending; Brixton might manage 50? (Nominally, ignoring the inevitable fluctuations at the whim of the narrative.) Marvel Class 5, anyway - stronger than Spiderman, weaker than the Thing. Lifts tanks, juggles cars, like Mr. Incredible or, indeed, early comics Superman.

'''Faster than a Speeding Bullet''' is a lot easier! Assuming it refers to a handgun bullet, it'd mean he can sprint at close to but not quite the speed of sound (or maybe even breach the sound barrier if he really, really pushes it), terrain allowing. Faster than any conventional ground vehicle, slower than a fighter jet. That makes him about thirty times as fast as a regular athlete, so I assume he can probably also jump about thirty times as far, something on the order of 240m long, 60m high.

Growing up on the family farm, Brixton trains from an early age to compete as a strongman. He keeps growing stronger and stronger, though, far beyond normal human limits and any notion of fair competition, and eventually decides there are more important uses for his talents than sports or farm work. The cause of his superhuman abilities is unknown, but having grown up reading his dad's giant stash of old comic books the popular conceit that superpowers are just evolution jumping ahead kinda stuck with him; it's inspiring in a way, the notion that these now amazing abilities might some day be as ordinary as feet.

Super Skill Descriptions[edit]

More Powerful than a Locomotive seems surprisingly hard to quantify, except that judging by the average freight train he should be able to pull at least 5,000 tons worth of train cars, and probably lift some small fraction of that. Nominally, She-Hulk can do 100+ tons at her baseline strength, Spiderman 10 or 25 depending; Brixton might manage 50? (Nominally, ignoring the inevitable fluctuations at the whim of the narrative.) He's Marvel Class 5, anyway - stronger than Spiderman, weaker than the Thing. Lifts tanks, juggles cars, like Mr. Incredible or, indeed, early comics Superman.

Faster than a Speeding Bullet is a lot easier!

Story[edit]

Origin Issue[edit]

Growing up on the family farm, Brixton trains from an early age to compete as a strongman. He keeps growing stronger and stronger, though, far beyond normal human limits and any notion of fair competition, and eventually decides there are more important uses for his talents than sports or farm work. The cause of his superhuman abilities is unknown, but he grew up reading his dad's giant stash of old comic books and the popular conceit that superpowers are just evolution jumping ahead kinda stuck with him; it's inspiring in a way, the notion that these now amazing abilities might some day be as ordinary as feet.

Aspect: Man of Tomorrow?

Issue One[edit]

Early in his career, Brixton struggles with how to throw his weight around without becoming just another bully. Like one old stage play put it, "O, it is excellent/ To have a giant's strength; but it is tyrannous/ To use it like a giant."

Aspect: A Giant's Strength

Issue Two[edit]

The newest arrival on the scene, Brixton isn't very familiar with the city and has yet to make much of a name for himself.

Aspect: New in Town

Issue Three[edit]

- - -

Aspect: - - -

Allies, Sidekicks and Rogues[edit]

Family[edit]

  • Robert Barlow, father
  • Gale Barlow (née MacDougal), mother
  • Dr. Abigail "Abby" Barlow, VMD, older sister

All three live on the family farm a few hours' drive from Leycross; Abby also runs her own practice in a nearby village. Pro tip: would make for effective, if obstinately troublesome, hostages.
