Wasteward Keep

Lord Almasy Tamas - Governor of Wasteward Keep. A Crusader who was once the Legate Commander of the Vth Legion. He has dedicated his life to serving the Telkarion Empire, and his faithful service has rewarded him with governorship of Wasteward Keep and the Wasteward Marches, what is arguably the most dangerous frontier of the Empire. He is well-known for being a very observant and wise governor, but has a strong attachment to tradition and the experiences of his adventurous youth that can make him slow to accept change. Having served many years on the southern frontier, he maintains a dislike for the goblinoid races that has created a rift between the troops under his command and the 13th Legion.

Master Asayar Zsigmond - Aged monk, master of the Tiger Claw fighting style. He is an advisor and long-time companion of Lord ALmasy Tamas, having adventured with him in his youth. He has an odd complexion that many attribute to his advanced age, but there are rumours that he has inhuman ancestor. He is missing one finger on his right hand.

Scoutmaster Janos - Commander of the scouts and rangers who serve the Empire in the Wasteward Marches. He is remarkable for the energy that he constantly displays, and hair that is worn long in the style of frontiersmen, both of which set him out from the other senior masters of the Keep.

Blademaster Tivadar - Commander of Lord Tamas' personal guard, a renowned swordsage. His booming voice can often be heard throughout the Keep as he admonishes a student or guardsman, but he has developed a reputation as a jokester amongst those who know him well.

Quartermaster Ferenc - Ferenc controls the warehouses containing the Empire's military stores. With appropriate approvals, important gear may be requisitioned from Ferenc for missions being undertaken in service to the Empire.

Magistrate Kazimir - Head of the Imperial Cult in Wasteward, administering over all temples in the region. A notorious skinflint who is generous with his praise and flowery words, but reluctant to part with a single copper. This has lead to rumours that the Temple contains a vast wealth, hoarded by Kazimir over the years. Established by radical human priests in the years following the creation of the Empire, the once-marginal Imperial Cult has gained in popularity in recent years, especially amongst humans who fear inclusion of other races in mainstream society.

Archmage Tivadar - Senior warmage of Wasteward Keep. His eyes glow with an eldritch fire that has been known to strike terror into his enemies. He is rumoured to have served House Telkarion during the Age of Warring Kingdoms, which would make him much older than the normal span of human years. An old battle injury has left him nearly deaf and prone to misinterpretation of verbal communication.

Captain Bartal - Commander of the militias of the Wasteward Region. A moody, humourless individual, he is not pleased with being relegated to command over the ragtag, poorly-trained conscripts.

Emre Benedek - Riverman who accepted the task of ferrying the party upstream, along with supplies for the tower. Last seen at the docks near the tower, where he awaits the party's return. He is fairly savvy guide to the dangerous river, and is happy to be earning the Empire's gold.

XIIIth (Goblinoid) Legion

Legate Commander Dhakiy - Commander of the Legion. This tall, imposing hobgoblin has a reputation as an exceptionally bright tactician, especially for a goblinoid. His intelligence is matched only by his cruelty, which he has used to impose iron discipline amongst his legions.

Tribune Qutaiba - Second in command of the Legion, this half-orc, half-ogre is a devoted cleric of the orcish war god Ilneval. His rank as a senior priest is obvious by the ceremonial scars that cover every inch of his body.

Amadi - Goblin Sergeant - The sergeant in command of the detachment guarding the docks near the tower.

Omari - Hobgoblin Centurion - Encountered on the Huladek River on the second day of the party's journey upstream. He was overseeing the crossing of his centuria and some auxiliary worg cavalry. They were returning from hunting down a particularly powerful elemental monster in the borderlands, and had several injured or dead centurions with them. He asked the adventurers to give his regards to Amadi.

Taj - Goblin Sergeant - On guard detail at the Legion docks, he guided the party through acquiring gear and passage on a ship.

The Watchtower

Sebestyrn Molnar - Militia Soldier - Only known survivor of the Genasi attack on the watchtower, which originally had a garrison of 20 soldiers and a commanding officer (13 bodies have been found dumped in the nearby woods). Currently accompanying the party as they attempt to make their way back to safety. When the much-weakened party awakened a zombie knight while plundering a burial site, Sebestyrn came to the rescue, eventually slaying the knight and rescuing the three unconscious party members.

Timodi Kertrsz - Militia Commander - Former commanding officer of the watchtower, likely deceased.

Elves

Elros Tarminvatur - Elf sorceror captured by the adventurers at the first watchtower, where he was found in the company of Genasi light troops. His role in the capture of the tower is suspected by the party, as he evidenced the power to place his opponents under a magical sleep, and the tower appeared to have been taken without a fight. He has been carried, tied up and gagged, by the party on their journey back to Wasteward. When questioned as to his presence at the tower, he alluded to House Tarminvatur siding with the Genasi in this war, and that this was done for purpose of the greater good.

Gimilzor Tarminvatur - Encountered by the adventurers in the company of a group of more than 50 human women and children, Gimilzor claimed to have struck a deal with the Genasi to escort them from their village to an area of safety near the elven homelands in the Fey Wild. Originally forced to accompany the party to Wasteward to answer for the actions of his relative Elros and his House, he earned his parole by rescuing the party from an attack by the Genasi. Trykaar released him on the promise that he would wait with his human charges in a remote vale for two weeks, and only continue his travels if no force from Wasteward came to collect him. Wearing a coat of elven chainmail and the robes of an elven noble, Gimilzor projects an impressive appearance that he has proven can quickly turn to terrifying. In combat, he revealed an ability to snatch a crossbow bolt from the air, and to send his opponents fleeing in terror without so much as drawing his sword.
