Theophorus's earliest memory is of being sold to the Sunaj at the interdimensional market of Splynn as a child. Life afterwards became a nightmare of training bio-wizardry treatments and indoctrination for his role in the Sunaj's wars. As a warrior thrall he was remade into a living weapon, enhanced by dire biomancy and marked with the mystical tattoos that enable him to battle demons at their own level. The dream of freedom, combined with his own fear that further enhancement would destroy him, led Theophorus to escape his masters while on a field exercise. The t-man is far from naive though. He understands that his body represents an investment of millions of credits and that some of the marks he carries are secrets that the Sunaj would kill to protect. It is only a matter of time until the denizens of Atlantis find him.

Understanding his situation, Theophorus has sought refuge in the NGR. After extensive examination and interrogation, the military determined that he was sincere in his request for asylum and offered him a place among the special tactical regiments with the other aliens who have chosen to fight for Germany. Knowing no other life than fighting and discipline, he accepted.

Theophorus's body has been entirely remade in the forge of bio-wizardry. His strength and beauty have been enhanced to superhuman levels and four dragonfly-like wings grafted to his back, along with the musculature necessary to operate them. Other changes to his body have made him exceptionally tall and significantly reduced his body mass. In order to maintain access to his tattoos, Theophorus seldom wears armor, and when he does it is often archaic in appearance.

Notes

Theophorus is a fairly simple front line fighter with a couple tricks up his sleeve. His tattoos grant him substantial MDC and access to a couple megadamage attacks. He also has the ability to fly and to summon a substantial sea monster if the occasion warrants it.

Overall, this character would be ideal for a player that is not too concerned about tactics. Once he or she works out the vest application of the black sphere tattoo, the player will be free to focus on the character's personality; which should be quirky to say the least. In addition to being an escaped slave who knows his former masters' reputation for retrieving slaves and engaging in covert warfare, Theophorus developed a severe case of hypochondria as a result of the trauma of being subjected to tattoo magic. My suggestion is to interpret this as a fear that his previous bio-wizardry transformations and implants are being rejected or otherwise going awry, or that he be afraid that he will again be subjected to physical alteration against his will. Possibly both.
