This page is a Lore Sheet' for Eight Trigram Wushu, a set of eight Wushu Secrets.
These techniques can only be used for physical conflict.
The four Yang Techniques can only be used for close combat physical attacks, be they unarmed or with melee weaponry.
The four Yin Techniques can only be used to defend against physical attacks, though they are equally efficacious against ranged and close combat attacks alike.
Strike of Celestial Perfection
The classic movements of the Heavenly form are flawlessly executed, and heaven cannot be denied. All defences fall away, and none can deny the perfection of your technique.
Cost: 3 Yang Chi.
Effect: Your accuracy increases by twice your Heaven Trigram for this attack.
Counteract: If the target has a higher Earth trigram than your Heaven trigram, they can spend 3 Yin Chi to automatically counter the effect.
Burning Chi Flame
Your attacks set the enemy’s internal organs alight with chi fire!
Cost: 2 Yang Chi.
Effect: If your attack hits, the target is set alight internally. He will take additional damage equal to your Fire Trigram at the end of his turn. This is cumulative.
Counteract: The target can spend an action to douse the flames, reducing the additional damage by an amount equal to his Water Trigram.
No Shadow Strike
Your attacks move so fast, they leave no shadow. How swift thy blade!
'Cost: 3 Yang Chi.
Effect: Make an additional attack after this one. Any chi effects applying to the previous attack do not apply to this new attack. Regardless of source, the maximum number of attacks you can make in one turn is equal to your Thunder Trigram.
Flow of Endless Movement
Your attacks naturally gather yang chi, thanks to their elegance and dynamism.
Cost: 3 Yang Chi.
Effect: For each dice that hits on this attack, gain Yang Chi equal to your Wind Trigram.
Counteract: None.
Most Excellent Acceptance
You accept the attacks, and somehow they all miss you.
Cost: 5 Yin Chi.
Effect: Reduce accuracy of the attack by 3x your Earth trigram. This can reduce accuracy to zero.
Limitation: No Style Bonuses.
Rising Wave
You absorb the energy of strikes against you, and this empowers your Yin Chi.
Cost: None.
Effect: Gain Yin Chi equal to the Yang Chi the enemy expended this on this attack.
Limitation: No Style Bonuses.
The Mountain Does Not Move
It doesn’t matter if the enemy strikes you, you are not harmed.
Cost: 5 Yin Chi.
Effect: Reduce power of the attack by 5x your Mountain trigram. This can reduce power to zero.
Limitation: No Style Bonuses.
Drunken Master
Your evasive movements strengthen your inner chi as you move away from attacks
Cost: 3 Yin Chi.
Effect: For each dice that misses on this attack, gain Yin Chi equal to your Mist Trigram.
Limitation: No Style Bonuses.
