Adara is a character from Forgotten Kingdoms, Fallen Lands, played by Kath.

Character Summary[edit]

Adara was once an angel, and a servent of Erathis in the Dawn War. She chose to take mortal shape for two reasons - firstly, she was impressed by the valour shown by the mortal soldiers of Erathis and wished to emulate them. Secondly, since the end of the war, she found herself without purpose and decide to embrace the conflicts so numerous to the mortal coil.

Adara has since lost count of the number of times she has incarnated. This hasn't been helped by the fact that the distinction between her different incarnation has become ... blurry. At times, Adara finds herself regressing to different personas from different times. While this produces the occasionally useful flash of historical knowledge, it also leaves her confused and uncertain of wether or not what she's currently experiencing is real or just a memory, or if she's really herself, or an echo of a former self. While once she was certain and resolute, this blurring has weakened that part of her, as has greater experience with the challenges faced by mortals and the strengths and weaknesses they possess.

Adara's latest incarnation is from the future of the Nentir Vale, about 100 years ahead of the default timeline. Her most notable incarnations include:

  • Iskal - her first incarnation, a bold woman convinced of her own righteousness and determined to help build the greatest civilisation ever known.
  • Wenana - is from the apocalypse that marked the end of both Arkhosia and Bael Turoth. She is consumed by regret and despair at all she has seen, as she remembers encouraging Akhosia to march to war.
  • Yasah - walked the world after the fall of Nerath, about the time of the default setting. She was determined to make sure the last points of light were not lost to the darkness.

Adara is tall and slim, as deva often are. Her skin is a dark blue colour, marked out with pale grey patches.

POWERS

Whenever Adara uses a power with the runic keyword, she enters a runestate - either Destruction or Protection, which give the following benefits (they last until end of the encounter or she switches):

  • Destruction - Allies gain +1 to hit creatures adjacent to you
  • Protection - Adjacent allies gain resist 2/all

At will 1: Word of Exchange. 1 target, melee, +8 vs AC, 1d8+4. Dest - next attack before EomNT against this target by an ally does +3 damage and ally get 3 temp HP. Prot - target takes -2 to all defences until EomNT.

At will 2: Word of Binding. 1 target, melee, +8 vs AC, 3 dmg and target is immob. until EomNT or I'm not adjacent to it. Dest - next attack before EomNT against this target by an ally does +3 damage. Prot - 1 ally next to me or the target gets +3 power bonus to AC until EomNT.

Divine Rune of Thunder. Encounter. 1 target, melee, +8 vs AC, 1d8+4. Dest - do +3 dmg and targets grants combat adv until EomNT. Prot- push target 5 squares and it's Dazed until EomNT.

Rune of the Undeniable Dawn. Daily. Close burst 3, enemies only, +8 vs AC, 1d8+4. Miss: do half damage. Effect: Creates a zone (lasts until EomNT) which gives me and allies +2 power bonus to all defences. Sustain minor - zone lasts another round.

Shield of Sacrifice. Daily utility. Close burst 5. Target loses a healing surge. One or two allies within 5 squares regains hit points as if they had spent a surge. The target and allies gain +5 power bonus to AC until the end of your next turn.

Flames of Purity. Encounter. Close blast 3, enemies only, +8 vs AC, 1d8+4. Dest - allies in blast get +3 dmg until EomNT. Prot - Allies in blast regain 3hp.

Rune of Mending. Close burst 5. Standard leader heal, can be used twice/encounter, allows targets to spend a surge with no bonuses. Dest - Me and all allies in blast get +2 damage until EomNT. Prot - me and all allies in blast get +1 to all defences until EomNT.

Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes. Encounter. Free action, get +1d6 to any roll bar damage.
