Real Name: Susan Storm Richards

First Appearance: Fantastic Four #1 (Nov, 1961)

Creators: Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

Capsule: Susan was the fiancee of scientific genius Reed Richards. Reed had designed a experimental starship capable of interestellar travel. When Reed went into an unauthorized space flight, Sue followed him. The crew of the ship was mutated by exposition to cosmic rays and gained superhuman powers. Sue acquired the power to become invisible at will. Thus was born the world-famous Fantastic Four.

At first, Sue was the Fantastic Four's weakest member. Later she developed the additional power to create and manipulate invisible force fields, a power that she gradually expanded into a wide variety of applications. Currently Susan is arguably the team's most powerful member. Her personality also followed a similar evolution. In stories published in the 1960s she was the archetypical girly girlfriend, later she matured into a capable, confident superheroine.

Married to Reed Richards, Sue remains the Fantastic Four's mother figure and the one with the most common sense, tempering the more impulsive personalities of the Thing and the Human Torch. The Invisible Woman is the team's leader in Reed's absence and has proven herself well capable of handling the team, though she lacks her husband's superhuman intelligence.

Notes: There are some Power Stunts that she uses often enough to be noted, but not often enough to be purchased as regular Alternate Powers. They include using force fields to block off a target's air supply (Ranged Suffocate), use her own invisibility to jam other invisibility powers (Nullify), and create fields that allow her and others to survive in hostile conditions (Create Object with Linked Immunities and the Affects Others Extra).

Her Distract (Bluff) feat represents her ability to confuse an enemy by turning him completely or partially invisible against his will.
