Eberron's existence is controlled by the placement and cosmology of the stars. The Dragon Prophecy records the weaving of Fate that are handled by the Three Norns that are each the daughter of one of the Celestial Dragons. Human action and the movement of the fates dictate what sort of events occur during this period as human will is affected by the movements and fluctuations of the Age.

In the words of one narrator In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God hovering above? At least it is true that man has no control; even over his own will.

First Age[edit]

The Age of the Gods was one where the Demons, the Fae, and the Dragons emerged. All of them fought for supremacy until the war ended by the Great Demon War. Siberys was killed and Khyber was bound, leaving the universe to largely be inherited by the Children of Eberron.

The Second Age[edit]

The Age of Giants is dictated by the power of their ascendancy. Using technology taken from the Dragons and Angels, the Atlan came to be the most dominant species in the cosmos. Ruling with an iron hand over many worlds, they were undone by their own hubris and the attacks of the Quori followed by the Dragons.

The Third Age[edit]

The Age of Elves was one even less impressive than that of the Giants but continued despite the efforts of the Giants to prevent it from occurring. It required the arise of the House of Vol to bring about the end of their prosperity and ascendancy. To this day, the Undying Court despises Erandis for this reason above all others.

The Fourth Age[edit]

The Age of Goblins was one dictated by the rise of the Dark Underlord and his ruthless conquering hosts that united Khorvaire under his rule. The powerful Dark Underlord created a ruthless and evil tyranny that nevertheless caused much of the world to fall under civilized reign. It ended thanks to the Daelkyr.

The Fifth Age[edit]

The Age of Man. The Kingdom of Karrn the Conqueror started this age and it was under his child Galifar that the greatness of the Empire was brought about. The Age of humanity was characterized by chivalry, honor, and piety. The Last War was the extended fall of them as a species.

The Sixth Age[edit]

The New Age is one that has yet to be claimed by a species. The Dragons, the Undead, the Githyanki, and those species past all wish to claim it.
