The Boar's Head Tavern was founded nearly a century ago when Caer Shadowfast was the Gate Town for the entrance to Cyre. It is a cantina that has a rather peculiar history that has caused most of the locals to shun it unless they're one of the 'strange and unusual' residents.

The last owner of the Boar's Head is particularly infamous in Sweeny Sloth (NE Male Wereboar Lycanthrope Ranger 6) in that he was secretly murdering a traveler a month and devouring them. The bones of well over a hundred victims were discovered in the basement when he was slain by adventuress Kellas Greywolf.

The usual occupants of the Boar's Head are a strange selection of adventurers, scavengers, travelers who aren't comfortable staying at the other drinking establishments. These include Deneith, Droam, and Dargunn mercenaries drawn the ranks of many non-human species.

The head of the late Sweeny Sloth hangs suspended over the bar in order to remind visitors that the tavern is well protected. There's a collection of other taxidermy treated monsters spread about the place to help reinforce the sense of danger hanging about the location.

The cantina's food selection is rather miserable but no one is really going here for the food. The drinks are some of the best in Khovaire with a wide variety of alcohols, spirits, and wines brought from all over the country. Many wonder how Kelly manages to acquire them all.

The bartender of the Boar's Head Tavern is an unpleasant Brelish warforged named Twister whom is best treated by ignoring everything he says and just letting him pour your drinks. The man is a constant source of gambling, bar fights, and other entertainment of a fairly low brow sort.

A rather ghoulish bit of entertainment is the fact that Kellas has entertainment provided by five Mourner abberations in Maxwell and his Janz wailers. These alien headed individuals were deeply deformed by the Mourning but otherwise fairly likable chaps with a unique sound.
