The Silver Vein Goblin Clan[edit]
Bob and Steve H. Goblin are a pair from the Droam marshes that were recruited by House Thrask to be miners. Feeling slighted and ill used from the beginning in favor of Dwarves (which they were), the pair's meager earnings were sent back to their clan in hopes of constructing a school. In the end, they did not realize that a group of glory hungry racists calling themselves the Knights of the Phoenix would murder the clan before stealing all of their loot.
Oddly, despite its degeneration, the Clan was a fairly clear descent directly from Dhaakani royalty.
Bob H. Goblin[edit]
A 2nd Level Lawful Evil Cleric of the Devourer, Bob H. Goblin's actual name is fairly unpronounceable by human standards. One of the last remaining clerics of the line of the Dark Underlord, he's the victim of a human hate crime along with his brother.
Bob's entire family was wiped out by a group of the Knights of Phoenix that hate all nonhumans. With nothing else to do and nothing left to lose, they broke out a bunch of the tribe's old scrolls and attempted to animate the Dark Underlord. So far, it's been more successful than Bob H. Goblin expected.
While Bob doesn't entirely believe that Gladius is the man destined to create a new Goblin empire, specifically when he's a Half-Orc, he has already gotten some measure of revenge out of the deal with the death of Lord Darro. With no mate or children, he fully is willing to die for his new master.
Personality: Bob H. Goblin is the more serious of the pair. The experience of having his family wiped out by the Knights of the Phoenix has left him prejudiced against most other Non-Goblin races. He's actually uncomfortable with his new Master's Half-Human heritage. Nevertheless, he's largely enjoying the belief he's going to make some impact on the world before he dies.
Nevertheless, Ben and others have picked up he takes a little too much enjoyment from the torture and killing of human prisoners.
Steve H. Goblin[edit]
Steve H. Goblin is Bob's brother. He is a Chaotic Neutral 2nd Level Fighter with some attributes that would be equivalent to a Barbarian from 3rd Edition. Illiterate and stupid, Steve H. Goblin is pretty much every bad Goblin stereotype embodied. He lives only for pleasure and the thrill of battle (yet is also a coward). Steve H. Goblin hasn't taken his clan's death as hard as Bob, this is not because he's unfeeling bastard (even though he is). But more the simple fact that Steve H. Goblin recognizes bad things happen to good people all the time.
Steve H. Goblin is slavishly loyal to the Overlord. This is due to the fact he's been paying for the beer and he's taken over Bob's traditional role of doing the thinking for him. While Steve H. Goblin would not voluntarily choose to die for the Overlord, he's so unthinkingly obedient he'd probably jump into a vat of bubbling oil before thinking about it.
Personality: Pretty clearly insane. Steve H. Goblin lives for sensual excess and can often be seen chasing Goblin females whenever he's in Sharn or other locations they can be. When they're not available, he gorges down food and liquor like there's no tomorrow. Despite not being a rogue, his preferred method of killing people is backstabbing and other treacherous means of murder.
