Jacob Hunter

Chaotically Lawful Neutral

Male Changeling

8th level Bard/5th Level Dark Lantern

He's a Secret Agent... Man.

People occasionally wonder why Captain Jarlot seems intent on recruiting one of every single class in Eberron along with race on his ship, but he occasionally has some difficulty. For example, Dooj's pathological hatred of Bards from his time when one scared him as a child. Michael's hatred of bards on principle. Lisa's belief that their... neutrality posed a far more severe threat to the state of redemption onboard this ship than the evil. "Neutrals, you never know where they stand." Plus the fact that Marish fills the Shifter quotient more than bard.

Jarlot solved this little problem and their frequent arrest/public relations problem by seeking Jacob Hunter. Agent Triple 0-Blackslash-Blackslash-Blacklash-Infinity-Pi. Dooj calls him Zero for short.

Jacob Hunter suprisingly was actually once the most competent agent in the Brelish Secret Service. Jacob had the duty of protecting the mentally invalid King from putting on a towel and attempting to fly, rescuing him from kidnapping whenever he walked outside with no guards... or clothes, and keeping him from doing things like testing his belief he was bulletproof (Jacob believes the youngest of Boranal's sons Stewie has the most potential for rulership even if he's chaotically evil at two but he has faith their loyal Shifter Brian will also care for his wellbeing).

That was when Jacob unfortunately had a bad encounter with a spell wand of the Royal Eyes and was unfortunately inflicted with a fairly nasty insanity curse. The service promptly dropped him over the issue of impregnating the female secretaries, claiming a vast conspiracy had taken over the Sarlonans called Q.U.O.R.I., and insisting on pretty much loudly announcing his presence at every spying event by dressing snazzily and saying his real name to whomever inquired.

Using his supernatural ability to pick up the most useful collection of rejects available, Captain Jarlot pretended to be an Admiral in the Brelish secret service "J" and has pretty much been giving the madman 'orders' ever since. "K" supplies him with the tools that are necessary to carry out his mission.

Hunter, Jacob Hunter's usual mission is fairly clear and keeps him quite occupied. It's more or less cover up the party's latest mayhem, rescue them if they need trouble, and at worst recover the bodies for raising or resurrection. He's fantastically good at this and the party's own rather extensive abilities take care of whatever isn't capable of being handled by him.

The glib bard is unusually good at using simple verse to reverse reactions from people, especially female, and some suspect he keeps a ring of charming on him. He's also extremely good at scapegoating, where he manages to find the latest dastardly plot of the local nasties to direct anger towards. He's so good at it that the party's reputation is often helped when they go and eliminate the threat for the townsfolk after their innocence is proven. Jacob's worried, though, when they run out of orcs. The worst cases are those he blames on Q.U.O.R.I. and Riedra has suffered some severe public relations setbacks that they have difficulty figuring out since NO ONE sent weird imagery into Jacob's brain.

Jacob's biggest problems are the firm need of Jarlot to reinforce his fantasies about him being in the service of the King still, the fact Jacob has somehow picked up Michael and Dooj's homicidal mania that WHEN *EVER* he enters combat explosions occur and massive numbers of people are mowed down (many suspect Jacob also has cufflinks of defense at the very least to survive all the shots he's taken), and his need to bed everything that moves. Rumors abound even Lisa can't keep her chastity around him.

...Which would seriously affect the minds of many crew if they discovered the truth about Jarlot's OTHER secret agent.
