Ikoma Raionko was born 18 years ago in a small village somewhere in the vast plains of the Lion. Her parents were the only samurai of the village and the girl enjoyed a life of more freedom, compared to the children of most samurai. She roamed in the fields along with her twin brothers, who were only a year older, and the three of them did numerous mischieves while growing up. Her father, Ikoma Nikimaru, was a roaming bard, one of the many storytellers that walked the Empire seeking for stories of glory. Her mother, Ikoma Natsuko, was more of the warrior type, but was forced to abandon the barracks for a life of administrating the household and the village in the name of her husband who spend a lot of months each year away from his family.

Some months before her brothers reached the age at which they should leave for the dojo, Nikimaru came back, but he didn't stay long. After a while, her brothers also departed starting their new lives next to their sensei and preparing to prove the clans superiority in the battlefield one day. Raionko, Sakura at the time, remained alone with her mother, but soon her father returned and stayed for long this time. They spent time together and he taught her so many things that she had never imagined before. Her mother simply watched and smirked from time to time. The girl would be ready soon. She had such a talent in lies and was very resourceful, after all. She would become a good asset.

After several months, it was her turn to leave her home back and join the dojo. She wouldn't become a warrior, though. Sakura would follow her fathers footsteps and join the Ikoma bards in training at the City of Honors Sacrifice.

Or so she thought…

Her sensei was old and wise in the arts and crafts. She first learnt a story or two, but soon she was taken away from the rest of the trainees for more personal training. She had to master different lessons and while the rest of the bards recited stories, she would train with the sword, when they were taught about the history of their noble clan, she spent her time learning how to move silently from corridor to corridor.

In her gempuku ceremony, she learnt that her father had the same sensei.

In her first mission, she learnt that she was also proudly walking the same steps her mother had once walked.

For what is best for the Lion, for the honor and the glory of her brothers' and sisters' she is now ready to undertake her second mission.
