Hammer Lord Inanna Aguba[edit]

Lord Inanna was born on Aguba, daughter of the Karsan Forged Lord who ruled this system. She spent her childhood here, but went to Karsan core world for more in-depth training in the Akkad tradition of psychological techniques. That she was accepted into such prestigious training reflects on both her own character and her father's political influence.

Lord Inanna spent most of her career working up the ranks in the Karsan fleets. A turning point came in a border struggle against one of the Darikahn Dukes. She was serving in the fleet commanded by her father and a newly promoted Hammer Captain. The fleet action was lost, and so was the war. To add insult to injury, not only was the Aguba family's incluence reduced after the defeat, but the Aguba home system was given to the Darikahns as well.

Since becoming a Hammer Lord in her own right, Lord Inanna has been striving to bring the family name back to fame.

Though attractive, Lord Inanna never married. She has always been too devoted to her career. She is now too old -- especially after a life in space -- to have children and concious that the direct line of her family may not continue.

N.B. Lord Inanna Aguba is a player character in Aguba, a Burning Empires campaign.

(Side comment. I want her to be effective especially in Usurpation and in Invation. I'm ok with her being less effective overall in Infiltration. She'll focus more on building her own position there. Assess and Take Action are the two key maneuvers we have to be able to do in each phase. So I need to slant towards the skills useful for those maneuvers. I'm left with no useful skills for those maneuvers in Infiltration.)

Resources[edit]

  • Base resources 11d
  • Hammer Cruiser Gilgamesh
  • Aguba family complex (isolated shallow water complex near a reef system)
  • Akkad knife (large knife, symbol of her training and functional weapon) [color, from instinct]

Circles[edit]

  • Base Circles 4d
  • Affiliations
    • 1d Hammer Captains
    • 1d Karsan/Aguba family supporters
    • 1d Nobility
    • 1d Circle of 10,000
    • 2d Bright Water Ltd trading fleet (aka the remnants of her father's fleet personel in armed merchants and patrol craft/escorts, plus the Gilgamesh)
  • Reputation
    • 3d Owner of Bright Water Ltd
    • 1d Daughter of the former Forged Lord
    • 1d Psychologist (positive in Karsan space, negative elsewhere)
  • Relationships
    • Bright Water Ltd Fleet commander (free)
    • Elias Aguba, younger brother, complicated (free, PC)
    • Imperial Steward, complicated (Nominally he's her lord, and he could be OK. But this should be her system.)

N.B. She is better known as the owner of a merchant fleet than as the daughter of the former Forged Lord. That is because she has spent most of her life out of system. At the same time, the fleet itself is her Hammer Lord fleet, and they know of her background.

Instincts[edit]

  • Always keep my Akkad knife close at hand.
  • Wear my heritage proudly, be conspicuous (note, she does not have the skill, but might soon)
  • Understand their needs, do a psychological read before social conflict

Beliefs[edit]

  • Aguba is my home and my birthright. I will find out why it was so important to my father.
  • Family and feudal ties hold civilization together. My brother Elias is wasting his life by ignoring his position, I will get him to become the asset to the family that I cannot be.
  • People are what they make themselves. I will convince the Steward to grant me a legitimate political position here.
