Mano a Mano Fantasy RPG:Changelings
Some creatures, especially trolls, are known to steal human infants and replace them with their own children. The creature child raised by ordinary humans and the human infant raised by the creatures are both called changelings.
The changeling raised by humans may look like a normal human baby or it could be strange looking, unhealthy, unnaturally strong or extremely precocious, growing quickly and walking and talking much sooner than other infants. The other changeling raised by inhuman creatures might pick up the magic and culture of it's adopted parents, or it might be marginalized by it's human personality and lack of powers. Descendants of a changeling living among humans might inherit some of their ancestor's magical powers or other inhuman aspects, while being otherwise fully human.
