Yghorl of Clan Raik was, like many krogan, a mercenary with the Blood Pack for many years. A stereotypical Krogan, Big, Tough and Belligerent Yghorl made a name for himself within the infamous mercenary company with his biotic abilites. On a Mission on Illium however, his team was captured while trying to break into a Corporate Research Facility belonging the Dantius Corporation. His Vorcha team mates were killed during the capture attempt and Yghorl was arrested and found guilty under Illium corporate law and sentenced to 15 years of hard labour under subsection omega X4RK/00RFM-293P of the Anti-Corporate Espionage legislation.

His 15 years indentured service was sold to the Eclipse Mercenary company by Dantius , where he was used as part of suicide shock troop squad (Canaria Team, named after an avian species on Thessia) made up of indentured krogan, vorcha and batarians. He was able to survive and it was during this time when began to learn about first aid and alien physiology, though at the time he is officer in Eclipse knew nothing about his studies.

While on a capture mission on Invictus, the Eclipse had been tasked with capturing the infamous Batarain slaver and Pirate, Red Kalick. Kalick and his band had been hold up on the infamous lawless world and Eclipse had greatly under estimated the gang's strength. The mercenaries were being decimated by the pirate gang and Yghrol's squad was tasked with holding the line to allow the rest company to escape. However during the retreat the company's commander, an Asari name Jamana, was seriously injured and cut off from the rest of her squad. Yghorl rushed to her aid, applying an emergency application of medi-gel and got her and the rest of the company of Invictus. On the shuttle ride back to Eclipse ship, Yghorl had to perform emergency surgery on Jamana with a combat knife and what little medical supplies were on the shuttle. His bravery on that day earned him his freedom.

Jamana introduced him to a fellow Asari, Veya T'Jorel, who was on a business trip to Illium. Veya was a former captain in C-Sec and left 100 years ago to form her own private security firm, Eidolon Security, a company which specialise in hostage negation and rescue. Eidolon Security, had a major contract with the Citadel and C-Sec and would often help in complex hostage situation or act in the council interests in situations outside of Citadel space. Veya saw that Yghorl's fighting skills combined with his natural talents as an medic, would make him a perfect candidate for the hostage rescue team.

Yghorl served with Eidolon Security for over 70 years and earned the nickname “Big Daddy” from one of his Turian team mates (which would become his call-sign on missions), for when the situation went bad, the team sent in “Big Daddy” to clean things up. Yghorl has won the personal thanks of the Asari Councillor, who had been injured during a botched kidnap attempt by a small group of Asari separatists, and is permitted to carry the “Favour of the Goddess” one of more important honours that many of the various Asari republics can give to their soldiers. But after a while he began to grow restless and needed a new challenge in life. Reluctantly he left Eidolon Security with Veya's blessing, to seek a new path for himself, for she herself once did the same thing herself when she left C-Sec. The two are now close friends and keep in regular contact, though Yghorl worries if this is because Yeya seeks a romantic relationship with him, as he is not ready to settle down yet, maybe in couple of centuries.
