Student: Henry Addler
Henry is a 4th year student in the Hart Hearth who came from a similar background as Talitha. While Tali focuses on her schoolwork to pull herself out of her home situation, Henry is set on making friends with nearly everyone he can meet. He acts as a balance to Tali's annoyance with other students at times.
Outside School: James Rathborn, No Mag Father
After losing his wife, James did the best he could to raise his daughter in a loving home. He provided what he could on his low factory worker salary and was grateful when Tali seemed to inherit her mother's magic, supporting her chance to make a name for herself with her talents even if his optimism makes them butt heads at times.

Talitha "Tali" Rathborn was born to a minor potion master mother and a non-magical father though she was primarily raised by her father from an early age. She is short with long blond hair she wears in a bun to keep out of her face and away from her glasses. Often seen in hand-me-down clothes, Tali tries her best not to attract too much attention to herself unless it specifically grants her acknowledgement for her academic achievements. She is hungry for knowledge though and sometimes bends the rules to learn more than she's supposed to.
Known as a talented if troublemaking student, Tali is often regarded as someone who could do great things if only her interests remained locked on a course prepared for her. She prefers to chart her own way though, bypassing the "correct method" to find solutions to class problems before they even arise. The bulk of her troubles come in her notes which detail not only what the loremasters teach but her own steps to find the same or further knowledge. She also sells copies of these notes to classmates who may have trouble paying attention in class.
She has little patience with most people, but she is not cruel. If someone is truly in need of help, she will step up in ways others may not consider. Perhaps due to her upbringing, she always carries extra supplies and snacks with her, finding that it is better to have her bags full than to be searching for a pen in her greatest time of need. These extra supplies prove invaluable when she has trouble communicating or when she wants to try win someone over.
Her greatest ambition is to become a potions master like her mother before her though to hopefully surpass her mother's very minor fame.
