Race Histories

The races on the Isle of Lumen have, of course, been on the Isle since the dawn of sentiency, though only a small portion of their history is documented.

Vampires[edit]

An atypical female Vampire. While the eyes are normally very intense, they are more often than not a dark red, though variations (such as this) can exist.

Vampires are, perhaps, the most unknown creatures on the Isle of Lumen. Their histories are scattered at best, but a healthy amount of information has been gathered about their past.

Vampires are extremely intelligent beings, who around their first generations developed a way to communicate soundly with one another. Their documented past involves their creation - being the oldest living creatures on the Isle of Lumen, they are believed to have descended from the Six Divine, who gave them life.

Organized government was almost as immediate as organized communication, but many different forms of government came and went. At first, a group of three Vampires took the reins over the entire race, but a rebellion ensued after unfair treatment took place, and they were all slaughtered. After an extended period of anarchy, the same form of government took place, then named the "Cothroime". The three were all regarded as fair and trustworthy, and reigned for at least a hundred years. Eventually, however, the three lost their patience with one another and the trio was taken down as the rulers.

Almost at once, another, single person took the stage as ruler: the Vampiress D'ardaigh. This Vampire, who remains alive to this day was regarded as a perfect ruler, and she remained leader until The Council became the supreme leader of the Isle of Lumen. Regarded as a flawlessly beautiful Vampire with crimson-red locks, D'ardaigh remains to this day a famous role-model among Vampires. Her intelligence is legendary, and though she was admittedly bitter about leaving her position, she is currently the main Vampire correspondent to the Council.

High Elves[edit]

A typical female High Elf.

High Elves are regarded for their intelligence, though this can obviously be feuded by the Vampires'. It is generally believed that High Elves were bred by a mutation of Vampires, which made them void of blood-lust at first. Environmental conditions were expected to be the cause of their pointy ears and fair skin (in comparison to the Vampires' near-white complexion). However, due to minor hostilities with the Vampires, many High Elves claim that they as well were a race created by the Six Divine. It is not an entirely blasphemous argument, being that such mutations would have to be drastic to make the High Elves become the way they are now.

The High Elves created early in their growth (though it is not documented when) a monarchy in which an elected head would have control over the race. While this control was powerful enough, it generally did not take complete control over the people's lives. There was, however, one exception. Only a few hundred years after the establishment of a government, the High Elves elected a leader, Rukrym as their King. Though Rukrum was indeed very unique in his missions (and even appearance), he appealed to many of the High Elves, and was thus trusted. The ensuing dictatorship was severe, and all prior documents regarding the period were destroyed for their horrific nature. Those very few elves that can recall the age only describe it as "awful" and "horrific", and dare not bring back much more memories than that.

After Rukrym was infinitely banished from the High Elves' home, he was believed to have created the race of Dark Elves - a hybrid breed of High Elves and the oldest race - Vampires.

Dark Elves[edit]

An atypical male Dark Elf. Dark elves will normally be very pale skinned, though dark pigments are not unheard of. While hair color varies, dark colors are more identifiable.
