Everything changed when Atlantean scientist Miriam Fellah invented unlimited energy. It was named the Genesis Device and produced energy with seemingly no input, drawing it out of thin air. She had set out to create cold fusion and even she had no idea of the real mechanism of the energy creation. Other nations painstakingly created identical replicas and eventually Earth was being powered by forces beyond human knowledge. World peace lasted for...a couple months until two Central Asian nations went to war over a disagreement over fishing rights and a boundary line on a lake that escalated and human existence continued on.

Malaysian researchers cracked the device many years later. Their leader Mamat Muda proved that the Genesis Device bores a hole into another dimensions and sucks energy from it. Immediately world sentiment demanded someone at least look at this dimension to make sure they weren't vampirically sucking some dimension full of kittens and puppies dry. A crack squad of inter-dimensional experts from the Damocles Directive was assembled to take a look...they never returned, and without direct proof the Genesis Device was harming anyone humanity continued on without sending another mission. The allure of infinite energy was just too great to go poking about as to where it was coming from.

Fast forward three centuries: Shah Guang Singh lords over the Singh Khalja. Humanity arrived at the stars under the auspices of the League of United Earth Governments, which became the League of United Planets. Life was peaceful, aliens were meet with diplomacy, trade abounded. Humanity slowly changed though. Where as before there were only the occasional Changeling or rogue science experiment to worry about, people began displaying tremendous power at an alarming rate. Police chases regularly became spectacular affairs as fugitives leapt from building to building.

Guang Singh saw where this was going. Human government until then had assumed a base line of human power that was no longer the case. A stronger populace needed a stronger government, and he was prepared to provide it. A near force of nature himself Guang drew other powerful warriors to his side and started a rebellion. With a mere 1,300 others he liberated a whole planet from LUP forces. People flocked to his new planet of Yagir. With these new recruit Guang raised an army that crushed the LUP, crafting his Singh Khalja in it's place.
