Supporting Cast[edit]

Lauren Heart - A steel-eyed, middle-American reporter in her late twenties who made her mark in the journalism scene years ago when her very first interview was with Virtuous before he left the public eye. Since then, she has become famous (some might say notorious) for her almost reckless drive to cover metahuman-related stories from an up-close perspective. Though her stories were sensational paper-sellers five years ago, the dwindling hero activity has cooled her fire, though her edge has not dulled. She still maintains some contacts in the hero community and if there is a story of heroism to be told, Lauren Heart will be there to report it!

Justin Blackstone - A tall Canadian in his middle twenties with brown hair and raven-like dark eyes, Justin Blackstone is a mildly famous occult detective for his on-and-off working relationship with Virtue City PD as a "special consultant" in occult and mystic matters. Through the brightest days and blackest nights of super heroes, Justin protects people from supernatural threats with his mystic practice and "no compromise" attitude, regardless of how people view him. He has an on-and-off personal relationship with Dr. von Hohenheim as well, at times they were really close, but in the end they’re both too busy with their own business to make the relationship go any further.

Timeline of Events[edit]

-27 years: Virtuous first appears, saving a runaway train from flying off the tracks. His example encourages others to become heroes and the Golden Age begins.
-22 years: Virtuous, Tokamak, Artemis, Gilgamesh, and Dr. Fortune form The Guardians in order to fight back an inter-dimensional invasion from the conquering armies of the savage Valkar race.
-20 years: The Doom Nation is formed by Virtuous's arch-nemesis, Archduke Arcanus, in an attempt to overwhelm the combined might of The Guardians.
-14 years: Artemis is present for fewer and fewer missions until she finally ceases to be a visible part of the team. Her place in the roster is frequently filled temporarily, but she is never truly replaced. The general public knows nothing of her current whereabouts.
-8 years: The last time The Guardians are seen working together. From this point on, the heroes seem to carry on their fight against evil on their own rather than as a team.
-6 years: Tokamak withdraws from the hero scene. The general public knows nothing of his current whereabouts.
-5 years: Conflicting reports place Dr. Fortune's last appearance in Russia, Japan, China, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, or Ecuador. In any case, he was not seen on American soil before he disappeared.
-4 years: Gilgamesh withdraws from the hero scene, citing irreconcilable differences with the human race. After giving a vague warning about tumultuous days ahead, he reportedly departs the material plane.
-3 years: Virtuous withdraws from the hero scene. The general public knows nothing of his whereabouts over the next three years.
Current date: A twist of fate sees the chance formation of a new team given the name of the Guardians by the people of Virtue City on the same night that Virtuous dies from unknown causes.
