The Fox is one of the great mysteries of the world, and has been since the dawn of the 19th century, if not longer. Never wearing the same face twice and possessed of the strange mesmeritic power to control men's minds, as well as a mad chemical and technological genius, the Fox strikes terror without seeming rhyme or reason; a sudden cult uprising in Bangalore one day followed by a union strike in Chicago the next and a chemical plague in Lima the week after that. These are the tracks of the Fox, and his trail is long indeed.

Rabbit first encountered the Fox in Cairo in 1821, when the villain unleashed a noxious disease carried by the city's fleas upon an unsuspecting populous. Rabbit managed to whip up a cure after only a fifth of the city died, but the Fox escaped.

More than 20 years later, in 1849, the wily cad surfaced again, this time in Beijing. He attempted to use an early photonic engine to release nerve gas in the network of tunnels under the city, planning for it to boil to the surface as "the dragon's breath." Rabbit recovered the sapphires Fox had stolen to power the machine and helped break it with fake crystals.

In 1866, Rabbit discovered the Fox's black pawprints all over the most brutal conflict the United States of America had yet to face: its Civil War. He had not only been a key agent in raising the passions that sparked the war, but pulled the trigger on the Great Emancipator himself, Abraham Lincoln. John Wilkes Booth was framed! Though he had plans to make the post-war years worse than ever through carpet-baggery, Rabbit was hot on his heels and the Fox fled the newly reunited America under cover of night.

The Fox didn't stay hidden for long. In 1886 he staked his claim in the Punjab region of northern India when he took the name "Sesha" and founded one of the many death cults active at the time, in an attempt to overthrow British rule. He tipped his hand too soon, though, and Rabbit lead the forces of the Raj on a lightning-fast raid on his mountain fortress.

By 1901, the Fox had made his way back to North America, this time wiping out twenty settlements near a new mining shaft in northern Canada with an avalanche. Due to the remoteness of the area, it was 1904 before Rabbit heard of this latest assault. Examining the site proved that it was the Fox's handiwork, but there was nothing to indicate why the criminal would be interested in a few settlers in this remote area.

It's been 20 years since the Fox's last rampage, his origin, his true face and even his ultimate goal still a century-old mystery. Only one thing can be said about the Fox for certain: he will strike again!
