The Sharp End (a Blood and Bone PbP)
Hurion Carver, overseer at the Bechamenal silver mine located in the remote north-east of Tarn, has failed to report in to House Thorn at Narcroft for over a month and silver has ceased to arrive from the mine for almost three months now. Those sent to investigate have not reported back and there are confused rumours of an Eskarn revolt in the region.
Reporting directly to the head of House Thorn, Lady Katerine Thorn, you are sent to find out what is going on and restore the flow of silver from Bechamenal. It's a distant, snow-covered and densely-forested land known for little apart from the quality of its silver ore, size of its pale spiders, and the wildness of its Eskarn. The disgraced and rebellious of Tarn are often sent to Bechamenal as slave labour to toil away until an early death in the frozen mine works, working alongside Eskarn slaves and tireless, rotten Risen to tear raw wealth from the roots of The Spine mountain range.

Joshua Greyhal a lieutenant of one of the divisions posted on the border to help keep the Eskarn from causing to much trouble. Joshua put in a good word for Morris to his superiors with out Morris knowing.
Lady Katerine Thorn, Morris' aunt and Talindir's aunt from the other side. She's known for her ruthless business acumen and willingness to step over anyone to keep the House strong - including any 'deadweight' members of her own family. She's guided by the seldom-seen Lord Clovis "the Longfang" Thorn, her elderly (ancient) father and a powerful Blooded, and married to her brother Clovis "the Ironhand" Thorn, generally known for his willingness to follow her lead but a formidable (Blooded) warrior and general in the Imperial Army. Lady Katerine, taken with tales of Caraíbos exploits, has personally engaged him as a retainer to House Thorn.
Lord Eugene Thorn, Morris cousin and the youngest son of Katerine Thorn. Morris challenged Eugene to a fair duel, no blooded abilities just their skill as warriors. It started out pretty even with Morris edging out more and more until Eugene cheated and used his blooded powers.
Lucia Black is Katerine's elder Blooded sister, sent to House Black as traditional tribute, but no one speaks of her much. There are other eldest Blooded Thorns sent to House Black as children but not much is known of them except Lord Sevrin Black, Morris uncle, a powerful Blooded priest of the Covenant and back in the east representing the Emperor. It's unusual for a former member of House Thorn to be returned to the area like this, but his loyalty to the Black King is legendary.
Talon Hajus, a Caroan barber and apothecary who essentially enslaved Nuri under the guise of "apprenticeship". Through a combination of wit and violence, Nuri was able to escape into the wider world. They're hunted by their old master, who's scarred from a Withering touch to the face.
The Brotherhood of Blades, a mercenary band Caraíbos once belonged to, acting as the group’s chronicler. He learned to fight with them and discovered a talent for duels. After two years, the band accepted a contract in a dispute between two Caroan city-states. Not keen to return to a country that caused him so much pain, Caraíbos parted way with the Brotherhood.
