Peta Grüber's life ended in a muddy hole just east of what was once Dusseldorf. The gurgoyle's power-blade had severed her spine and sheered off an her left arm. Several of her internal organs had burst in the onslaught. She thought that she heard music as the pain blotted consciousness from her mind.

Peta Grüber was reborn in a Triax laboratory on the south side of Berlin. Phantom pains from her career as a dancer in previous life twinged at her metal hips and knees. The doctors insisted that they would go away in time. Her new body was powerful and she was eager to get back into the fight. The technicians affixed the refractive armor and her faceplate; Peta Grüber had become a killing machine. A silver coated reaper to cut down the demonic hordes that threatened her people.

Her first few deployments as a silver-type cyborg commando went well. The long-range laser cannon proved highly effective at bringing gargoyles down and her other weapon systems enabled her to deal with a range of other threats. Her armored form shed lasers and rail-gun bullets like so much rain. Peta soon came to feel invincible.

After two-dozen sorties, Peta's behavior began to become more and more erratic. She took offense at every comment and in battle she would ignore her comrades, pressing forward even when the situation was not clear or safe.If not for her superior service record, her recklessness might have led to severe disciplinary action, perhaps even decommission. Instead she was offered a transfer to the Special Tactical Regiments, where she would be tasked with overseeing a unit of D-Bees and other supernatural beings; beings of lower value to her superiors than humans.

Notes[edit]

Peta mostly fills the role of a brick in this group. Between the MDC of her bionic chassis and the refractive armor, the character has over 500 MDC on her main body. That she also is carrying one of the most impressive sniper weapons in the game makes her highly flexible in the role though. She's quite capable of getting out front and holding ground as well as hanging back to head-shot targets from half a mile or more.

One of the more challenging aspects of this character is her insanity. It's fairly easy to say that the character is homicidal, expressing itself as rage and violent behavior, that's fairly two-dimensional. I'm hoping that whoever ends up playing the character will try to see that irrational impulses like that are confusing, frustrating, and scary for the person experiencing them.
