Initial Pitch
I want to create a super-human phenomenon that occurs with a small percentage young people. Perhaps this seems similar to certain other mediums, but know that this mutation comes not from science, but from magic. People will be randomly transforming into creatures of folklore, and the world in general is left to deal with that.
I will be working with themes of persecution and alienation, and I will be drawing from European folklore and legends.
In all likelihood, I may create a few superheroes along this line as well. Perhaps a team, but I have not decided. I have the idea of a superhero magician, but that is still developing...
The Changeling Advent
Suddenly, our changeling children start developing magical powers and showing their Fey heritage.
Dr. Kadabra
A pre-Advent Changeling, he used his powers to acquire great wealth. Once the Advent happened, he use his money and his powers to support all these new Changelings.
Bishop Crow
A 400-year-old Changeling, he has figured out that the way for humans and Changelings to live in peace is to kill all the humans.
Razor Jenny
Transformed as part of the Changeling Advent, Jenny rejects the authority of both Dr. Kadabra and Bishop Crow to determine what 'her people' should do. SHe is intent on making a utopia, far from interfering humans.
Salvation City (Underworld)
Razor Jenny's utopia. Originally a nuclear shelter city, it is now flooded with energies from the Expanse, and a refuge for her and her people.
The Mighty Pan
Once a comic musician, he transformed as a Satyr Changeling. He can control emotions, and (unreliably) affect probabilities, with his music.
Ironblood
A troubled youth, Lucas ("Luke") Draques discovered, on transformation, that he was stronger and more resilient than "normal" people, and could grow to the size of King Kong.
