Howard Hughes [age 19]: Industrialist and airplane afficianado, just coming into his own.
Belle Rousseau [age ??]: High-class Parisian prostitute

S. Wilson Rosepere [age ??]: Head of the Lazarus Trust's Paris office. A tough, bitter old soldier.
Wendell Harper [age ??]: Head of the Lazarus Trust's Vienna branch office. A wild-eyed, matt-haired bear of a man.

Henri Coanda [age 58]: Romanian aeroplane engineer and rocket scientist
- Bethany Coanda [age 22]: Henri's daughter, a would-be explorer
Amelita Galli-Curci [age ??]: Italian opera diva, known across three contients for her lovely voice
Paul Renaud [age ??]: French Gendarmerie with a secret
George Seldes [age 34]: American journalist; interviewed Lenin in 1918 and was subsequently booted from the USSR.
