Babylon 5 - Before the Dawn
A play-by-post game using the Cortex Prime RPG.
Introduction
It was the end of the Second Age of Mankind, seven years after the Earth-Minbari War.
The Babylon Project continued its attempt to create a station in neutral space, despite the latest station disappearing without a trace 24 hours after it went online. In its absence, entrepreneurs set up small stations of dubious legality to handle the flow of goods and information in demand after the end of the Earth-Minbari war. In this chaotic environment, there were credits to be made, reputations to be rebuilt, and places of relative safety for those on the run. Smugglers, diplomats, wanderers, and refugees traveling all alone in the night, with danger lurking in every dark corner.
This is the story that few have heard, about a ragtag group who sought only to rebuild their lives, and ended up doing so much more.
The premise is that each of the characters has suffered a serious setback in their life, and the only option left to them is outside the law. They are drawn to Quadrant 15, which contains a covert trading post constructed on the edge of an asteroid field, disguised as just another rock. The only other thing of note in the system is a jumpgate used as a transfer point between Earth, Centauri, and Minbari space.
The person hiring the characters is Mr. Reno. He employs teams of 'finders' to acquire objects and data, and needs individuals with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds. If you can complete jobs with discretion and speed, he pays extremely well. The game would be run mostly episodic (for now), with each adventure being one finder job from Reno.
