My pitch is for that most enjoyable and exciting of super-human origins: mutation!
Basically, I want to create a super-human phenomenon that occurs with a small percentage young people. Perhaps this seems similar to certain other mediums, but know that this mutation comes not from science, but from magic. People will be randomly transforming into creatures of folklore, and the world in general is left to deal with that.
I will be working with themes of persecution and alienation, and I will be drawing from European folklore and legends.
In all likelihood, I may create a few superheroes along this line as well. Perhaps a team, but I have not decided. I have the idea of a superhero magician, but that is still developing...
