Introduction

It's Earth, but not quite as you know it... Here, superheroes have been a fact of life since the 30s and 40s, the so-called "Golden Age" if you ask the old-timers about it. And the world has been enjoying the fruits of these heroes' hard work in the decades since, with standards of living across the world doing much better than they otherwise would be. There are those who abuse their great powers, of course, but there'll always be heroes to protect us from these villains.

It's become a point of pride for cities to have their own superhero teams, and locals can get into quite heated arguments with those from neighbouring cities about whose heroes are the best. While some heroes complain this diminishes their hard work, most are happy to lean into the friendly rivalries and use their positions to foster a sense of community pride.

Noctilucen City is the latest in a long line of cities to set up their own team. It's a great opportunity to get some hands-on experience for new heroes, but the lack of infrastructure means you'll have to figure a lot of this out yourselves. And don't think that any villains will go easy on you since you're new!
