Age Of Dragons: Main Page -> Age Of Dragons: Mythology and History -> Timeline

This is the timeline of major events, as kept by the White Archive.

Approximately 60000 years ago: The world is created by the Mother Goddess

Approximately 4500 years ago: Endless Night arrives in the domain of the Sable Dominions, and seizes power.

Approximately

2384 years ago / 1 KC: The founding of the White Archives, officially Year 1 by the Kalarni Calendar.

Circa 880 KC: The Ghost Dragons flee the homelands, and begin their exodus southwards.

1042 KC: Ghost Dragon refugees petition the Ashen Kingdom for refuge, and are refused. They pass on to the South.

1047 KC / 1047 AC: The Alliance of Light is founded by Solar, Pure and Argent dragons. The Kalarni Calendar is renamed the Alliance Calendar. 1047 KC is therefore also 1047 AC.

1071 AC: The land that will become known as Ghosthome is gifted to the Ghost Dragons by the Alliance of Light. The Ghost Dragons are formally placed under the protection of the Alliance.

1140 AC: The Ashen Kingdom makes a formal declaration of neutrality, stating that neither Alliance nor Ascendancy may cross its lands, or that it will join their enemy.

1148 AC: A formal invitation to join the Alliance of Light is issued to Storm Dragons and Chimerical Dragons, which is politely refused. Ambassadorial efforts still continue to this day.

1154 AC: Much to the chagrin of the Ashen Kingdom, the Alliance offers membership to the Hunter Dragons, but their price of war against the Ashen is too high to pay, so no deal is struck.

1158 AC: The Talons of Open Sky, a single Hunter Dragon sky tribe of 12 Dragons, formally joins the Alliance of Light without any conditions.

1222 AC: The Inquisition is founded by the Pure Dragons, with the goal of unifying the Alliance under their state religion.

1269 AC: The Farksy Rangers are founded by the Argent Dragons.

1274 AC: The first Wayfort is established in the eastern desert of Thirsting Sands, named the Oasis Wayfort. Many more wayforts would be built over the next two hundred years by the Argent Dragons, both in Thirsting Sands and Heart Forest.

1322 AC: One hundred after its inception, the Inquisition is disbanded thanks to the efforts of Solar courtiers, who successfully argue that the Alliance are alienating potential allies. However, the Alliance Council declaration that the Orthodoxy of the Mother Goddess is their official sanctioned religion is never rescinded. Also, though the Draconic Inquisition ends, the mortal Inquisition continues - naturally, Alliance humans are not afforded the same leeway that Alliance dragons are.

1384 AC: One thousand years ago. This is effectively as far back as any living dragon can remember.

1450 AC: The order of Hallowed Choristers is founded in Kalarn. Over the next three hundred years they will take centre place in the Orthodoxy.

1521 AC: The Alliance encounters an Ascendant of Shadow (a follower of the so called “Path of Apotheosis”) for the first time.

1771 AC: The last City-State war in Arrantis ends, and the City States of Arrantis become a single nation, under the command of the draconic Emperor of the Hierarchy of Scales, with a Senate House of human and Argent dragons beneath him. Though the Imperial Line has been recognised amongst Argents for over ten thousand years, this is the first time that he can truly be said to rule all the mortals in his realm.

2324 AC: The Ascendancy starts excavation in the Fang Mountains, aiming to unearth The Buried Prince.

2359 AC: Endless Night makes a doomsday prophecy predicting and promising the extinction of the Ghost Dragons in four hundred and forty four years time. This is “leaked” out over the next two to three years.

2372 AC: The Prophet, a mere human, makes his first speech in Kalarn, naming all Dragons as demonic fiends. Three Pure Dragons are killed in the subsequent mortal revolt.

2374 AC: Words-Remembered, a Pure Dragon archivist and analyst makes a speech to the council, pointing out the “cracks in the Ashen Wall”, stating that in less than two centuries the Ashen Neutrality will no longer be significant in the war.

2384 AC: Present Day.
