Darmstadt Castle sits in the Austrian alps, looking over the village of Heitzing, a few hours drive from Vienna. The castle has been home to the Dippel family for the past 200 years, ever since they left Germany. In fact, the castle is named after the city in Germany that the Dippel family once called home.
Despite its pleasant exterior, the castle was home to a series of horrors. It was the Austrian headquarters of The Thule Society and housed more than a score of their soldiers. They provided the castle with its security and the castle provided them with a base from which to conduct their dark expeditions. The castle also housed Doctor Dippel's primary laboratory, nursery and greenhouse. It was there that Dippel grew his nutriwheat, his strangle-weeds and his Creature.
Recently, Dippel had an altercation with our Intrepid Explorers that led to his castle catching fire. Dippel escaped for parts unknown and what will remain of his castle when the fire finally dies is anyone's guess.
