Gerald Greywood

LN Male Half-Elf

Ranger 7

Appearance:

Gerald takes after his Human father more than his Elven mother. Tall, powerfully built, and intimidating, he is a commanding presense in any room. His brown hair is kept neatly cropped, a habit held over from his time spent fighting Aundairian forces during the Last War, and he keeps his Kunai close at all times.

Personality/Background:

Gerald is a serious man in his early fifties, and his time as a soldier still seeps through to his everyday activities. He has a bit of a dry wit, and is decidedly more level-headed than Ben. After their parent's deaths in the Last War, he watched over his little brother faithfully, and the two have a very strong bond.

Thanks in part to his participation in both the frontlines fighting and tactical planning aspects of the Last War, he has the best grasp of politics and politicing in the group, as well as the most experience in dealing with "alliances of convenience". His efforts have earned him a great deal of respect from Oalian, and the Great Druid has granted him the position as his official representative in the Watchmen.

While being imprisoned by the Blood Claws, Gerald had his right eye forcefully removed. As a replacement, Oalian offered up one of his own seeds to me used as a Perception Seed graft. The unusual powers present in this gift from the Great Druid has granted the two a partial bond. While the activation seems to be triggered by events of importance, neither has control over when and how often it happens. During a link, they can converse as if through a telepathic link, and Oalian can see what Gerald sees though the seed. Gerald considers this gift an incredible honor.

As a side not, he harbors feelings for Thelia, and they seem to be mutual, but neither appears likely to make the first real move. While they are officially "just friends", Thelia's troubles may yet force his "more than friends" feelings into the open.

Hints for Roleplaying: Serious, well spoken, and a gentleman, he is a good man disillusioned by the futility of war. While not one to shy away from a battle, he tends to be hindered by doubts if his enemy is not clearly a threat to him and his.
